Cancer's POV
"I hate this!" Virgo complained as he carefully walked through the sand trying not to get it in his shoes.
"Just take off your shoes."
"Nope. There could be stray pieces of glass and I am not cutting my foot."
"You are so paranoid," I giggled. "I don't think there's any glass."
"You probably think there's not a lot of things hidden in the sand."
"I know there's little hermit crabs and seashells."
"Of course there's seashells. That's why you came down here."
"You didn't want to get any?"
"Not a fan of sand. You know that, Cannie."
"You're just gonna stand there and watch me?" I pouted. I wanted him to at least have fun with me. "Come on, I bet the water's nice."
I motioned towards the crystal waters. This was the nicest beach I've ever seen. The nice, white sand and the blue sea. It was like the kind of thing that you see on the vacation brochures.
"You know that I don't like the ocean."
"Yeah, yeah. Whale shit and fish pee, I know."
"It's nice that you understand me."
"Give me ten minutes to look for some shells and then we can watch the documentary on Edgar Allen Poe when we get back to the house."
"Did you put on sunscreen?"
"Oops, I forgot." I skipped up to my tall boyfriend and stuck out my arms. He sprayed the sunscreen onto my skin and kissed my forehead. I bounced over towards the shoreline, since that's where the best shells were.
I walked up and down the strip of land collecting unique shells and feeling the impact of the waves crashing into my ankles.
I tried to take as little time as possible because I knew Virgo got sunburnt easily. One time he got really sunburn from taking out the trash and feeding the dog. He's a little poor thing when it comes to the sun.
I love going outside, but I have to make some sacrifices for Virgo. I don't mind spending time indoors as long as he's okay.
I'd take cuddling and watching somewhat boring documentaries over rubbing ointment on his burnt peeling skin.
But I'd take spending time with Virgo over anything.
Capricorn's POV
I sat down on my bed, typing away at my computer. I signed up for a essay contest. The prize was a 50,000 dollar scholarship to any choice of college. I needed this money, because becoming a lawyer was a lengthy and pricy process.
"Hey Cappy."
"Hey, Taurie."
"Do you want to hang out with me today? It's been a while since we've spent some quality time together."
"I'm sorry. Now's not a good time. I'm working on a scholarship essay right now."
"Sounds fun."
I took mental note of the sarcasm and disinterested in her tone. She was right. I haven't been paying attention to her in a while. This essay probably wasn't the most important thing right now.
"What did you have planned?"
"I don't know. I just wanted to spend some time with you, but since you're busy, I can ask Scorp_"
