2 weeks later I get the job. I work 6 hour shifts. All together it's 12 hours daily. $15 an hour. 5 days a week.
For now I'm working register. Before I can do anything that involves driving I have to get my license.
My drivers test is tomorrow, my day off, I'm hoping I pass.
Thomas, who is a guy thats in his early 20s and delivers sometimes usually to the same house.
He's quite the talker.
He's always talking about his weird yet funniest deliveries. I mostly find them weird but everyone finds them funny.
"Alright Kristen, i gotta make my delivery" he tells me packing up.
All I do is smile. It's not a genuine smile though. I don't have those in me.
He leaves and waves at me through his car then pulls onto the street and drives away.
He says the boy—well boys—that live in this house would be good for me. I don't pay much attention to him when he says this since I don't want to be in a relationship or friendship or really anything. And besides they might be 25 for all I know.
Thomas comes in 30 minutes later.
It's 9:58 pm meaning I'm off in 2 minutes.I'm getting ready to go and putting my things away. Thomas sits on the counter next to the register.
"I hope you pass your test tomorrow, Kristen" hes smiling at the ground.
I walk around to the front to see him turning around.
"Thanks. Continue" he seems confused at what I said and furrows his eyebrows.
"You need to say something else, don't you. So go ahead, i kinda gotta go" he slowly turns his head. "Oh nothing—" he smiles "—just have a goodnight"
He goes behind the counter as I walk to the door "thanks? You too" and I head back to my apartment.
I enter and see another note from my mom.
"Im so sorry Kristen, I won't be home for a few days. My company is having me fly to Seattle for an important meeting. There's money in the drawer. Good luck on your test. Love you. -Mom"
It doesn't really matter since I'd rather be alone. I've always liked being alone.
I got changed into something comfortable and put my hair into a messy bun.
I don't really know what to do. The shows they have on tv are boring. No youtubers have posted any good videos. There's nothing at all to do.
After 30 minutes of laying on a couch-ish thing on the balcony I finally decide to just go on Instagram.
I thought of doing that in the first place but instagram is always so boring and dead.
I look through my explore page. There's absolutely nothing interesting.
I then decide to watch tv.
