Chapter 31

After a good nights sleep for everyone, red woke up to see Lisa still sound asleep cuddled up in his arms as he smiled. After yesterday he didn't want to leave her on her own so he slept beside her making sure she was safe.

He gently shook her awake as she looked up and smiled, " morning," she smiled and stretched placing her head on his chest as she closed her eyes again still feeling tired from the anti-venom as red placed his hand on the top of her head and pulled her closer.

" how my brave little solider doing?" He smiled as Lisa nodded her head as if she was saying fine.
" Debroah's outside making breakfast by the fire if you want any?" Red asked as she shook her head. She was too tired to leave the tent and go get some so red carefully lifted her weak body onto her sleeping bag and wrapped her up with all the blankets that was there making sure she was warm and left the tent after kissing her forehead.

" morning!" Debroah smiled as she shifted some logs so the fire kept going as red smiled taking a seat beside the camp fire as he made himself some coffee.

" how's Lisa?" Debroah asked sitting beside him as red glanced at the tent then at Debroah.

" she's doing okay, just sleepy.... I don't know what's wrong with me but I don't wanna leave her side, I want to comfort her and protect her from anything and I can't believe my own cousin and my best friend put her through that! If it wasn't for them this never would have happened. I just want her to be safe!" He should as Debroah but her comforting hands around him rubbing his back.

" your doing an excellent job red, everyone knows it! Especially Lisa, keep doing what your doing," Debroah said while pouring some coffee into a cup as she hands it to him, " now go give this to her so he has some energy to get back to pine hollow later on."

Red nodded in appreciation of Debroah's advice and scooted back off to the tent With 2 cups of coffee in his hands.

A few hours later everybody else was up and awake sitting beside the campfire as they all looked behind them to see Lisa looking pale getting out her tent with red by her side.

Liam and scooter automatically felt guilt flood over them as they looked at each other as Stevie and carol came to Lisa.

" how you feeling?" Carol asked as she nearly got knocked to the ground by Lisa giving her a massive thankful hug.

" thank you so much for yesterday carol! I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you!" Lisa whispered as Carole put his arms around her and squeezed her gently.

" Lisa, we are so sorry," scooter said getting up from the log as red glared at him with angry eyes.

" we will Discuss it when we get back to pine hollow," Lisa mumbled not in the mood for talking to them, she was too tired.

" and since you guys cheated, means you lost. You can take all the tents down while we hear back now," Stevie said grabbing her helmet as she tacked up belle and watched red help Lisa get onto prancers back.

" I'll be back soon, if I don't get arrested for killing my cousin," red mumbled as Debroah came over and out her hand on reds back, " I'll stay behind and make sure that does happen. You keep safe now," she smiled rubbings Lisa's leg as Lisa kicked prancer into a walk as she followed Carole and Stevie.

" how you feeling?" Stevie asked as Lisa felt tears fall from her eyes as they all pulled their horses to a halt and looked at Lisa try not to break down.

" what can I say? You guys have done so much for me and I'm just dead weight... I'm sorry, I'm so sorry to you guys, red, max, Debroah, Liam... just everyone. I need to go home and rest," she cried as she nudged prancer into a quick canter after quickly wiping her face with her sleeve to get the tears away.

Carol and Stevie watched their best friend rode away with sad eyes.

" she's so lost," carol whispered as Stevie nodded, " tomorrow when she comes to take prancer out we can support her in every way we can... until then I think we should let her have time to herself unless she needs us."

" should we tell red about what's she's said to us?" Stevie asked as Carole went deep into thought. She hated the fact her two best friends had boyfriends now since they can't talk as much anymore but this was no time to be selfish and red deserved to know even though she wanted it to be the old days again when it was just Stevie, Lisa and herself.

" yeah red needs to know I suppose, we can tell him when he gets back to pine hollow."

When Carole and Stevie got back to pine hollow they saw prancer was already untracked, fed ands happily relaxed in her stall.

" she must have gone home," carol signed as they led their horses to their stalls.

It was 3:00pm  and the boys were still out in the woods getting everything down, they had already done the girls tents but now there were getting rid of all their stuff. Red and phil were so angry at Liam and scooter and it was tense.

Liam wanted to say something, he knew everything that had happened was his fault but he couldn't care his own cousin hating him.

" red I'm sorry," Liam blurted out as red started piling stuff in a bag and ignored him, getting angry even just bearding his voice.

" come on phil, this stuffs ready to go, let's go back to pine hollow and see the girls," he said getting up and putting backs on their horses saddles and settled off back to pine hollow leaving scooter and Liam trailing behind feeling bad.

When they got back to pine hollow they all got their stuff organised and went into the lounge as Debroah went to go speak with max about all that had happened over the weekend.

Red and phil sat beside Stevie and Carole while red and scooter sheepishly went and sat on the sofa on the sofa from the other side of the room as phil glared after putting his arm around Stevie's shoulder.

" where's Lisa?" Red asked taking a sip from his can of juice as Stevie turned towards him.

" she went home, she's feeling a bit low," Stevie mumbled as Carole interrupted, " she's really tired though, so tomorrow she should be all good."

Red sighed and glared at Liam and scooter, " are you two pricks happy now? Look what you've done! Your meant to be my best friend scooter! And Liam, don't get my fucking started on you!," red shouts standing up, " how dare you put me through that! How dare you! You promised not to do anything and you did! What you trying to do? Kill her! She's not healthy, she's just out of hospital," red screams as phil quickly gets up and puts a hand on her shoulder in a calming way.

" if anything happens to her to do with falling down the mine or the snake I'm holding you both fully responsible," red whispers while grinding his teeth leaving Liam and scooter speechless as he storms out with phil following him.
