A couple days after New Years, I open the letter box and I see an envelope with my name on it.

That's weird. I normally don't get any mail.

I walk into the mansion and I take a seat at the counter. I look at the back on the envelope and there's no name on it. There's no stickers either. So, whoever sent it just dropped it off and left. I open the letter and a folded piece of paper falls out. I open the paper and begin to read.

Dear Chloe,
I'm sorry for the way I acted at Christmas. I didn't mean to get into a fight with Carter at the Marshall's. The thing is I have known Carter for a really long time and it was that day; that I found out that Carter was my cousin.
He knew who I was for years and he never told me. We went on missions and had to hide out together. He still remained quiet and didn't say. "I'm Carter and I'm your cousin."
Carter and I have been sent on an assignment and I don't know when I'll be back, which is great timing for me. It will give you time to come to terms with having another brother and I hope after your child is born that you will get in contact with me. I would love to be an a Uncle to your child and a Big Brother to Nate and you.

Love

Drex

I was a bit harsh when I met him, but I was surprised at how much he resembled Dad at a younger age. I just wished that my parents were around when he came into our lives.

Jai walks into the kitchen. He looks at the letter on the counter. "What was in there?"

I hold up the piece of paper. "It's a letter from my brother. He wanted to apologise to me for his behaviour at your parents place. He found out that day that Carter was our cousin and to top it off they have been working closely for years and Carter never told Drex that they were related. It hurt Drex that he was the last to know about being related to Carter."

Jai hugs me. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Drex continued to say that he was going to give me time to get my head wrapped around having an older brother. He told me that Carter and he are going on another assignment and he doesn't know when he'll be back. At the bottom of the letter he left me a number to contact when I'm ready for him to be part of my life. He wants to be an uncle and a big brother." A smile spreads across my face. "I want him to be apart of my life."

Jai starts to make waffles for breakfast. "I'm glad that you want Drex in your life. He's a great guy. I have worked with him a few times, that's why I had to call him when it came to helping Ace out with his business. The only person that can successfully consolidate your business. He's even managed to turn a corrupt business into a legal one, but there's certain things he's against. The number one thing for him is human trafficking, drugs, armoury and a few other things."

While Teresa and Nate were here for New Years, she taught Jai how to make waffles. So, every Saturday he makes waffles, Sunday is pancake day and the rest of the week is whatever you can get your hands on day.

Jai places breakfast on the table and he sits across from me. "What do you want to do today?"

"I think you need to check on Lusive. It's been awhile since you've been to work. I think it would be fun to go in today."

"Okay,"

At three o'clock Jai pulls his car into the parking lot of Lusive

At three o'clock Jai pulls his car into the parking lot of Lusive. He climbs out of the car. He rounds it and opens the door for me.

I step out of the car and follow him into the bar.

Ethan is standing at the door. He smiles. "Good afternoon, Mr Marshall, Chloe."

I hug him. "Hey, Ethan. It's been awhile."

"It sure has. How far along are you?"

"Five months."

He whistles. "Time goes by so quick. I can't remember the last time the boss was here."

Jai turns towards him. "I'm here at ten in the morning. I don't want everyone to see me here. I go through the books and update things and then I go home to my beautiful girl. I can't imagine spending hours away from her."

Ethan makes a whipping noise and moves his hand like a whip. "Someone's whipped."

Jai laughs. "You will be too when you meet the right one. You know what kind of woman you deserve?"

Ethan crosses his arms. "What's that?"

"Someone that challenges you. I just hope the girl is someone that can sneak past you while you man the doors to Lusive."

A smile spreads across Ethan's face. "I've met a girl like that. You're new bar manager hired her this week. Looks like she's the new Chloe."

Jai pulls me into his arms. "She will always be my Firecracker."

A girl with dyed blonde hair, green eyes, tanned skin and thin walks over to Ethan and she wraps her arms around his waist. She looks at us. "Who are they?"

Ethan points to Jai. "That's Jai Marshall he owns the bar and standing next to him is Chloe Knight. His fiancé." To us he adds. "This is Chantelle."

Chantelle holds her hand out for Jai. "Its nice to meet you boss." She quickly drops his hand and she hugs me. "It's good to see another female around. It gets suffocating working with all the men."

I laugh. "You're right about that, but we're not here to work. Jai wanted to look over a few things. Then we're going on a date." I pull Chantelle to the bar and we sit at the bar. "Ethan, was telling us how you met him. I would love to hear the story from you."

She laughs. "So, one night I wanted a drink and I didn't have money to pay the admission fee. So, when his back was turned I ran into the building and sat at the bar. I ordered a drink, before he came after me. He headed in my direction and he told me that I needed to pay the admission or get out. The bar tender put the drink on the table and I paid for it. I looked at him and said. 'I just want one drink. It was a hard day at work and I need something to unwind.' He let me finish my drink before he tossed me out. Ever since that night he calls me "sneak."

A smile spreads across my face as I recall how I met Jai. "I met Jai here too." I touch the bar. "The story of Jai starts with this bar, the stool I'm sitting on," I point at the sprinkler. "and that sprinkler."

Chantelle leans forward and I tell her the story.
