Your POV

Winter break flew by pretty quickly. Basically, Camila and I haven't exchanged a single word after... that. Today will be the first day I'll see and probably speak to her again. During the break, I've thought back to the way she's acted and it confused the shit out of me.

What else could've been the reason for her to kiss me... The more I thought about it, the more unlikely it seems that Noah's the reason. I mean other than that, another logical reason would be that she likes me... But I don't know, my brain automatically rejects that possibility every time it comes to mind...and I also don't want to ask her about it because it's an awkward topic to talk about.

"Hey," Camila said as she sat down opposite of me and unwrapped the food she had brought for her lunch. I greeted her back before continuing to eat my sandwich, "So, how did Winter break go after that?"

"It was boring, but chill I guess." She pulled out her phone and I saw her thumb furiously scrolling on the screen.

I raised my eyebrows at her, "What are you checking?"

"Well, during the break, I've found out that Noah has suddenly begun following tons of girls and liking their pics. So I'm just checking if there are more to add to the list."

I shook my head, "You're stalking him on Instagram?"

She shrugged nonchalantly in response and continued with what she was doing.

"What even is the point of doing that?"

"I will know when he's texting with someone because he'd be still online and not liking any posts."

"That wouldn't necessarily mean that he's DM-ing someone, but okay. How is that any of your concerns? Do you want to get back together?"

"Maybe."

"Camila--" I wanted to say how this is all a waste of her time because that guy's clearly not interested in her anymore, and even though he still does, he's cheated on her, she shouldn't just go back to him like nothing has happened. But she cut me short.

"Look, you don't have to support me in this if you don't want to. But just don't step into this either."

"Alright. Okay then."

-

I don't know why, but I have this feeling that Camila hates me now or just... strongly dislikes everything I say and doesn't want me to interfere with anything that happens in her life. I'm literally watching how my best friend's searching for a trap to step into. There's nothing I can do about it, solely because she's not letting me. Whenever I tried to reason her something, she'll end up blocking me out.

Camila's phone dinged and snapped me out of my thoughts, she picked up the device and read the message she's gotten with a smile on her face. "Who are you texting?"

"Josh, Noah's best friend."

"Why?"

"One day, I just decided to text one of his best friends to see how he's doing, and I only knew Josh's Instagram, so I DM-ed him. Turns out he's 'really busy with fucking other chicks' now. However, Josh said how disappointed he was in Noah and apologized on his behalf. And we've been kinda texting since then."

"You trust him?" Before she could answer me, her phone showed her another new text message again, making her ignore me.

I watched as she slowly raised her eyebrows, glanced up at me, replied to him, frowned, shook her head, typed again and so on. After a couple of minutes, she put down her phone and finished up her lunch like she was doing nothing. "I don't mean to be nosy or anything, but what happened?"
