Her Bedroom. It is half the attic with a small room under with a bathroom.

-Summer schools out-

Clouds cover most of the sun, leaving only bits and pieces peeking through every once in awhile and I watch it bounce off of me and shimmer covers the trees. Nature is one of my favorite and least favorite things, most of the night I tend to spend on the roof, reading if the weather allows it. I slide myself off the roof and onto the terrace right below, heading into my room to get ready for school.

How my siblings are content with going to school year after year amazes me. I've only been going for a few years and it already has driven me to the brink of insanity. The only good part is watching humans be the simple minded creatures they are. It's like watching tv. It's amazing how we all like to broadcast our life, how we like to think people want to know everything we do. It's the running joke of humanity.

I pack my bag and head downstairs, dropping my bag on the kitchen counter. Carlisle comes in and he's holding a letter. "What's that?" I question and he hands it to me.

"It's for you." he answers and I glance at it, seeing it's addressed to me. Another letter from Aro, of course. I open it, tearing it with my nails. Reading the old-styled paper I check the crimson wax seal. Very old-fashioned. It does have a sort of class to it though.

Alice and Jasper come in, the former popping up beside me. A letter from the Volturi." she states, looking at the letter, "What's it say?". I give it to her, letting her skim it.

"They want to see me. To see my progress as a newborn, and the latest addition of the Cullens." I tell her, summing up the letter in my own words. It was sent a day ago, with a private messenger. Picking up my bag I add "They want to see me within the next two days.".

"Well you can leave tomorrow morning. Bella's party is tonight. You have to come!" She insists and I nod. The idea of visiting the Volturi never fails to send shivers down my spine, the underground throne room that doubles as their feeding chamber can freak anyone out. Dead or alive.

My eyes flicker to Carlisle who is shuffling some paperwork before he goes to work. "I'll stay home today and pack. I'll inform Esme so she can call the highschool." I inform him and he nods, setting his pen down. Carlisle told me all about the Volturi, more specifically about their morals. Part of me has always been curious about their power, what makes people want to join them, and the other half made me never want to meet them. Eventually I did, once they heard of my power for sensing lies, they asked me to join their ranks but I denied. Human blood has been the one thing I've been really strict with myself about.

"They have a jet waiting for you. They may try to get you to drink from someone but you can always say no." He reminds gently, he trusts me but I guess it never hurts to remind me. I've been good so far, but he's always been around. The Volturi gave more notice last time, maybe they don't want Carlisle to come this time. After a year I'll be a boring normal vampire but I will also be better at control.

I nod and head upstairs, taking the letter and my bag with me. I set the bag on the shelf next to the staircase railing. I begin to pack, setting Bella's present, which was a bracelet with a necklace with a small blue stone. It wasn't too long, but just short enough to be comfortable.

Matching earrings that have medium, non-tacky blue gems. I also got her a few dark headbands because she seems to like to do her hair. They are expensive (for headbands at least), latest fashion headbands. I just noticed she likes headbands.

The last thing was a silver chain bracelet a blue gem shaped like a teardrop. The teardrop had the chain on either side so it isn't like a charm bracelet. I've never been a fan of those. It's over used in my mind. I'd rather have certain jewelry that I always use because it means something to me without showing the whole life story.

I set them in a small silver box, with decorative tissue before leaving it on my shelf against the railing so I won't forget it. As everyone leaves the house but Esme, who typically works at home doing architect stuff that I don't really know much about yet. I'm still on the vampire lessons.

Finding her in the study dusting, I lean on the doorway. "Esme?" I catch her attention and she whirls around, "Any chance we can go hunting? Probably shouldn't visit the Volturi hungry." I shrug.

She sets down her dusting stuff, "Of course."

Hunting never gets an easier, at least for me. Esme seems to be okay but she also has been doing this for a long time because she has no problem leaving guilt free. Meanwhile I walk along to treaty line, which is mostly a river but I like looking at it. There's no wolves today, which I assume most of them go to school. But I don't dare cross. They'd smell a vampire and know it was one of us.

Vampires smell different, even to us. We all smell differently. I head back home and grab my bag that holds my wallet, glasses that I wear to school sometimes to play the part of a human, my license and just everything i'd need.

I used to wear glasses when I was human. I only really needed them to read before I turned. Now I have perfect eyesight. They are one of my human artifacts that keep me feeling a little human.

As lovely as Forks is, Seattle never ceases to amaze me. Even if it takes me three hours to get there. It would take three and a half but I speed. I buy some things for the trip. I also buy a lot of books, my shelves are kind of empty right now. It's nice that I can basically do whatever I want, great vampire perk. It's pretty hard not to be ridiculously rich. Work will never tire us, plus work is like watching tv for us. Humans are unpredictable and petty, free drama on demand.

I bought a few things for the family too. For Edward, a few books, and CDs, Emmett a new video game that just came out and a hat. Rosalie is getting a new jacket and heels. I got Alice some scarves and a new bracelet.

For Jasper I got an old style cowboy hat, a dark blue jacket that looks almost black and something Alice hopefully will approve of. I got Esme a new sweater and a diamond heart necklace. Her gift is to love so I thought it fit nicely. Her gift is the reason i'm undead, which is better than dead.

For Carlisle I got a new comb for his hair since it's always styled so nicely and a new cotton sweater that I think will fit nicely with his role as father dearest.

They aren't anything special but I thought i'd leave it on the counter before I leave in the morning. A nice surprise before I go to Italy for a week. I'm sure Alice already knows but still. I drive back to the house and only bring my stuff in because i'm sure Alice will want to see it. Italy will have some nice gifts to bring back too.

Alice always likes to see what I bought. I put it on my table across from the stairs that lead up to my bedroom before actually entering my room. The nice thing about my room is that I have a whole room below it with a bathroom and it's basically a giant closet. Alice's head pops up as she comes up the staircase and I gesture to the stuff "Go ahead and look. I'm going to take a shower. I smell like mall and my car perfume.".

"Okay but then I want you downstairs. The party starts soon." she says as she dances up and down excitedly. I laugh and nod before she waves a hand at me to go take a shower. I grab a towel from my bin on my shelf before heading down and take a shower.

Narrowly avoiding a vase holding a bouquet of flowers, I turn to Esme with a sheepish smile. Esme scolds me "Hey what did I say about running in the house?" and I shrug as I slide past her at a normal speed this time to set Bella's bag of gifts wherever Alice wants it to be.

I see Alice run off, and I go to stand next to Jasper. "Bella is here already?" I ask and he nods. There's one candle unlit, which bothers me more than it should and scoot over to Esme. "Where's the lighter?".

"On the table text to the chair." she answers before rushing me, "Alice will be coming down with Bella in a few seconds." and go to light it. The rest of them got together and face the stairs. I lit the candle before setting it on the small stairway that led to the two feet higher walkway.
