Eventually we split up, he ran back to Edward and I ran home. I stayed in my room and took a shower and changed.

I heard him drop off Bella, I watched her vehicle leave and I also heard him coming up to my room. He came up behind me, taking my hand in his. "Esme let me up here. Hope that's okay." he said and I nod, smiling softly at him.

"Of course." I tell him, teasing him a bit as I turned to face him. It just felt natural to be around him, to act as if I had known him forever.

He slowly pulled me into a hug, as if making sure it was okay. He wrapped his arms around my waist, under my unbuttoned sweater. I wrapped my arms around him as well, playing with the soft fabric of his shirt as I rested my head on his chest, looking out the window. "I know it's weird, but I don't want you fighting." he admitted and I looked up at him.

I gave him another soft smile and told him, "I wouldn't have you fighting if I had the option. But I know you are protecting your family and i'm protecting mine." I tell him and he frowns.

I unwrap my arms, he lets me go, but I grasp his hand, pulling him towards the bed. "I don't sleep, but I have a bed because it is ridiculously comfortable." I tell him before jumping onto it, and falling on it, after letting go of his hand. He climbed on next to me and rested on his side, looking at me. I turned on my stomach, turning my head as I laid it on my arms to look at him too.

"It is pretty comfortable." he agrees and lays on his back, groaning. I get up, sitting with my feet criss cross, and lean on my elbow, looking at him. It felt nice that he was somewhat comfortable around me.

He had his eyes closed, but he slid his hand onto my legging covered knee. "You can go to sleep." I tell him and he just shakes his head before leaning up onto his elbows and looking at me with a smile, showing his teeth.

"No i'm fine. I just slept weird last night." he told me and I furrow my eyebrows. It felt weird because I couldn't read him. It was like how I felt with Bella. I could somewhat tell by body language but I couldn't read them.

"Would you stay out of the battle if I asked you to?" I asked, a bit shakily but also curious. His smile fell, his face going serious and he sighed shakily.

He shook his head and I bit my lip. "I couldn't if I wanted to." he told me before fulling sitting up, his feet landing on the floor as he sat on the edge of the bed. He had his back to me, but turned his head to continued, "I was supposed to be Alpha. But I didn't want it so I let Sam stay. I don't have a choice now. I only found out about this when I came for the party.".

I look up from my lap at him, "You were the one I smelled?" I ask and he rose a brow, as if surprised I smelled him at all.

"You were there? I didn't see you when we were talking about the army." He he said and I nodded, gesturing around my room.

"I'm not exactly good around humans. I stayed up here. There was an accident when I was a newborn and so I left for awhile, a bit before my family has left. I wasn't allowed to eat animals when I was there." I tell him, playing with my hands, not liking the memories I had of my time with the Volturi.

"What do you mean they wouldn't let you?" he asked, a bit confused and I look back down at my hands, the light green polish was chipping.

"What did they do to you?" he asked, looking angry and I stop playing with my hands, resting one on his arm as I crawled over to be closer to him.

"Nothing I couldn't take." I tell him, looking into his eyes but his eyes were still holding anger in them. "Jane holds the power of pain. She was my tutor. They, I mean the Volturi, wanted me loyal and if I drank human blood, and they brought it to me, i'd be loyal to them. And they knew it." I informed him and he began to shake.

He slid away from me, trying to keep control. "You trusted them and they let her hurt you?" he growled and I took his hand, lifting his chin from where it was trained on the ground and made him look at me.

I gave him a kiss on his shoulder over his shirt as I was next to him, facing his side, hoping it would calm him down a bit and it did. "Demetri stopped her.." I lied a bit to him and he stopped shaking a bit. Demetri did stop her sometimes, when they needed me. Otherwise I was theirs to train and that is how they trained us. There were rewards that came with it.

He squeezed my hand a bit but I dragged him back to lay down. "Come lay down with me." I tell him and he submits.

He lays down next to me and lays on his side, his arm folded under his head, resting on the pillows. "No dinner first?" he jokes and I give a small giggle and I lay on my back next to him.

"I don't think you'd like mountain lion." I tell him and he shrugs, a small smile on his face before I heard everyone someone arriving.

I rush to the window, leaving Jacob surprised as he sat up quickly. I saw Alice's car and Jacob asked "What is it?" but I walked slowly back to bed, my eyes leaving the window. I stopped at the edge of the bed, taking in the sight of my mate.

He was perfect, absolutely perfect, wolf, human, vampire, in any way he would still be perfect. He seemed concerned but I just smiled at him, "I thought Bella had arrived. We are all going hunting tonight to prepare for the battle. I have to leave when Bella gets here." I inform him before crawling back over to him.

"Want me to go?" he asked sincerely but I shook my head, eyebrows furrowing. I never wanted him to leave.

"No. Of course not." I say before I lay on back back again, fluffy pillows under my head. "Besides Edward and Jasper are hunting already. Emmett and Rosalie are... somewhere?" I couldn't hear them so I assume they are gone. "Esme went to go see Carlisle at work, and Alice will be meeting Jasper soon. Edward is hunting since he and Bella will have the house to themselves tonight." I explain and he stiffens at the last part.

"What if he hurts her?" he growls and my eyes widen a bit, I shake my head in disbelief. I sit up a bit, on my elbows and give him a look.
