Don't Cry

Unusually the day was embarrassingly awkward. Yuta had slept in the Jung's house, but soon had to leave. Bogum was amused by his new toys in the living room while Jaehyun avoided any kind of long talk with Gayeon, only paying attention to the boy who was sitting on the floor. She didn't want to disturb him with questions, since she thought she might be imagining things. It wasn't a long time since Gayeon was at his house, so she didn't let herself be shaken by his reaction. Yet something seemed to be wrong.

"Hyung, I need to pee" Bogum approached Jaehyun.

"Is it time to debut the potty?" caressing the kid's hair, he stood up and nodded "I'll teach you, okay?" they both went to the bathroom, leaving Gayeon alone in the living room.

Sitting on the couch, watching a random cartoon on TV, she reached for her phone in hope that she would see some message, maybe from Doyoung. Gayeon sighed seeing that she hadn't received anything and so decided to take the initiative.

Gayeon

< Hi ^^

< I wanted to thank you for calling me out yesterday, I haven't had fun like that in a while (16:45)

Gayeon didn't waited for a quick answer, since Doyoung said that he worked part-time and was still studying to be a doctor. Maybe Jaehyun knew something, because they were friends after all, though he had been strange since that night, so it would not be a good idea to ask. Maybe tomorrow he'd be more excited and good to talk, she thought. Not paying attention to what was happening on the large television screen in front of her, she sighed without realizing that Jaehyun and Bogum had returned. The day went by slower than usual, Gayeon blamed Jaehyun for avoiding her all the time, yet she finally had a moment alone with him when Bogum fell asleep and was taken to his room for an afternoon nap. Jaehyun practically threw himself on the couch, focusing his eyes on his phone and kept quiet for a moment.

"Did something happen?" Gayeon asked, fixing her gaze on his face.

"No" he didn't even blink.

"Then why are you avoiding me?" even mad, she tried her best to keep calm.

"Tsk..." he finally decided to reciprocate the exchange of looks "I'll go straight to the point, okay?" his gaze seemed impatient "Don't get closer to Doyoung."

"What?" she tried to understand what was happening at that moment frowning.

"Do as I say, and everything will be fine, especially for you..." he smiled lightly, then broke his smile to give her a cold look.

"First, may I ask why?"

"No, but if you insist in this, you'll suffer the consequences."

"Okay look, I don't know what happened for you to be acting like that, much less to be annoyed whenever anything that involves me with Doyoung happens. If I did something wrong, I want you to tell me. Now, if you don't have a reason or I'm a nuisance, just let me know that I'll leave" didn't raise her voice knowing Bogum didn't deserve to hear this kind of conversation.

"My God, since you were a kid you get yourself in trouble! I know you cried when Yuta left. You know what, fine, do whatever you want, I'm done" he left his phone on the coffee table with a long sigh staring at the corners of the room" I shouldn't have said anything, but I insist..." he whispered in frustration.

"Insists on what? You hide everything, you never tell me anything! Couldn't you trust me a little?" didn't want to show her anger and as a result of holding the emotions for so long she felt tears stream from her eyes "Why does everything have to be so difficult with you? You... You idiot!"
