The morning was warmer than Gayeon expected. She woke up a little stunned and with a headache. After taking a very long bath, she went down for breakfast, even though she wasn't hungry. Her mother was sitting on the couch, watching the morning news with a cup of coffee. With a glass of orange juice in hand, Gayeon moved closer and sat down beside her. She didn't ask anything, just said "Good morning" to her daughter and they became silent again watching TV. Her mother seemed to have realized something had happened.
The other night Gayeon's head was full of confused thoughts, yet today she made the decision that most comforted her heart. She wasn't cared what would happen if she doesn't do anything. She wasn't going to care and nothing were going to hurt her anymore. Friends or not, Jaehyun could live his life as he always did and Gayeon decided to follow hers.
"I hate to think about it, but though the faster I accept, the easier it will be to forget" she made herself believe.
"Are you going out today? "her mother started the conversation in a calm tone.
"I need to leave the papers and medical examination in the cafeteria. I start working tomorrow" Gayeon calmly finished drinking her juice and got up to leave the glass in the sink.
"Well, watch out there and remember to comeback early. There're perverts everywhere."
"Mom, everything will be fine. And for God's sake, who would want to do something with me?"
"Aigoo... I raised a stupid daughter... Stop messing around and go already."
Gayeon woke up really grumpy. It would be best to avoid contact with her friends just not to be rude with them. She ended up smiling alone as she caught herself thinking that Jaehyun's friends were also her friends. Gayeon didn't feel lonely as before, that was good, everything would be alright.
Even outside was hot as hell, but the breeze was cool, which made it easier for her to walk to the cafeteria. After finishing her appointment, Gayeon left the place excited after being informed that would start working tomorrow. The moment she stepped out the glass door, she felt something bump into her legs.
"Oh...?" as she looked down, Gayeon realized it was Bogum with his hands on his nose "Are you okay?" she laughed crouching down and caressing his hair with affection.
"Noona!" he hugged her laughing, and she picked him up.
"How's my favorite Jung?" she laughed to see the child all happy and noticed a silent Jaehyun next to them "Is everything okay at home?" this time she asked Bogum's older brother.
"Yes, yes..." Jaehyun put his hands in his pockets "But very quiet, you know."
"Classes will be back soon, so everyone has been busy. Right?
"Yes... I mean, I think so. I should go back to studying too, test's week will start soon."
"I should do the same as well" again the silence "Well, I better get back home" she let the smaller one reaches the ground.
"We're going too. To our house I mean" he looked embarrassed.
"Alright, let's go together then."
They kept a certain silence as watched Bogum walk happily along the path. It wouldn't take too long before they get home. Soon that silence started to bother Gayeon.
"Jaehyun?"
"Yes?"
"Have you already talked about the situation with Bogum?"
"I think it'll be better when my father gets home. It would be the right thing to do, don't you think?"
"Yes... It would be hard to try to deal with this all without your father."
