Brick laid his head on his math textbook while blaring music through his headphones. He hated Mondays because of two reasons: one, he has to go to school and two, he has to sit at lunch with a bunch of dweebs. Brick sighed as he closed his eyes hoping to catch up on some sleep he missed throughout the weekend.

But he didn't.

Instead he felt someone bump into him, but that bump was more of a push. Which led him to fall out the chair. Brick let out a curse word and took out his headphones as he looked up. Blossom stood there with shock written across her face as she held out her hand. Brick swatted her hand away and sat back on his chair.

"Sorry!" Blossom exclaimed. "I tripped over my own feet . . . I hope that I didn't ruin your nap."

"Well you know, naps are when you actually get some sleep. Instead a girl pushed me out of chair. So yeah, you ruined my nap." Brick said.

Blossom face redden, "I said sorry."

"Yeah, I know."

"Why are you a jerk?"

"Why is the sky blue?"

"Excuse me?"

Brick smirked, "Its a pointless question like the one you asked. You don't really care why I am a jerk you just wanna know because if I tell you the reason then you would feel the need to pity me. Am I right?"

Blossom blinked some as she shook her head. She opened her mouth to say something but Brick put his finger against her lips. Blossom frowned as Brick took away his finger. She crossed her arms over her chest.

"No, you're not right." Blossom said.

Brick rolled his eyes, "Of course I am. Everyone pities something over everyone."

"What? No we don't."

"Really? You don't pity people with special needs that you would do anything to make their easier? Or you don't feel bad when people have cancer? Face it, we as humans pity over everything."

"What are you in? Psychology?"

Brick shook his head, "Nope. I just know the ways of life. So I dont follow the normal ways of life."

Blossom narrowed her eyes. Brick went back to his phone and clicked on something. Blossom turned away, already hating that Brick is right. Blossom would've pitied him if he gave a reason that would've broke her heart. Blossom opened her textbook.

"And what you call people being a jerk is maybe how I actually see the world. Ever thought about that?" Brick asked.

"No. No I haven't." She replied. "Again, sorry."

Boomer stood outside the lunchroom, staring at the table. He saw Blossom and Brick talk buy from he sees he doesn't think that the talk is going great. Boomer turn to look around, looking for teachers, so he could skip the rest of the day. He nodded to himself and walked to the main doors.

"Boomer?" Bubbles asked.

"Dang," Boomer muttered before turning around. "What's up?"

Bubbles walked over towards him, "You know the lunchroom is that way, right?"

"Yup."

"Then walk together!"

Bubbles grabbed his hand. Boomer flinched as he took his hand back. She looked at him then down at his hand. Her eyes widened as she saw burn marks covering his hand. Boomer quickly tucked his hand behind his back and gave her a small smile.
