"Wait!" Mavon yelled, wheeling his suitcase behind him as he stumbled through crowds of people all waiting at Seoul International Airport. Snow rolled her eyes, pausing and waving down the bulk of a man whose strides were too long for both of them to keep up.
"You never wait for me, you bitch" Mavon huffed, panting lightly as he came to stand next to Snow. She grinned and shrugged a shoulder, gesturing to the apple of her eye who was currently coming back towards them.
Every time she looked at him, her heart didn't beat faster. Her blood didn't warm. Her mind didn't go blank.
But she did calm down, she did feel infinitely at ease, she did feel like...her. Something she never had with her ex.
"Is that cripple slowing us down again?" He murmured, wrapping a thick arm around Snow's waist as the cripple in question glared at them.
"That cripple is no longer a cripple and can actually hear, so, yeah, I'd appreciate it if you didn't talk about me like I'm not here."
Snow disentangled herself from the hulk of a man and hugged her best friend, both of them sighing into the movement.
All the shit that had hit the fan had made all of them realize something. The Seven would always be family, whether they liked it or not. It was just...they didn't always need to be together too. Their bonds would always be there, strong and immovable, especially in the face of everything they had been through together.
But right now- right now was a time for everyone to explore, be something other than what their city labelled them to be. Tanner and Cohen went to Ireland for an indiscriminate amount of time, both deciding to catch up with family before going off to college. Abel went to Italy to go and study cooking under his uncle, who happened to be one of the world's most prestigious restaurateurs. Felix stayed, deciding to spend more time with his father who was in a home and probably learn more about how to hack into places you shouldn't be allowed to.
Mavon, well Mavon went with Snow. It made sense, and was expected really.
So was the fact that Dominic was in love with Snow.
He hadn't told her- not in a verbal way- but Snow knew. Could see it in the yearning in his eyes, the familiar longing to be closer with someone that kept you at a distance. It was that...and the way he treated her. He didn't expect crassness from her, or hold her on some high horse like Brutus had done, no, he was gentle with her in a way she didn't expect but did on some level.
Snow didn't love him.
Not yet anyway. But she would be- she could feel that much in her bones. Snow turned her gaze up, looking at the beefcake she now called her boyfriend, and smiled at him with such brightness his heart skipped a beat. He made her feel like her. Not like the cold girl everyone expected her to be.
"What's that smile for, gorgeous?"
Snow shrugged a shoulder, hefting a duffel bag over it and walking ahead of both of them. Her father and her had gotten closer, which was part of the reason why they were in South Korea. He was on a case, and she decided to tag along, wanting to see how the real justice system worked in different countries, travelling for a few months before she started on her real journey.
Going to the police academy and becoming the best cop the world had ever seen.
Dominic was going to be taking over his father's sporting goods company, and Mavon was in the running to go to a Mechanical School that specialized in car and engine engineers.
They had their futures figured out, and now she did too.
"I'm just glad you are both here with me."
They caught up to their girl and shook their heads. "If you keep walking as fast as you are, we aren't going to be for much longer."
Snow stifled a grin as they walked out of the airport, breathing in cold air and looking at the first stop of many.
Things would be okay.
