Toxic

It infected my mind.

It whispered tempting thoughts, of a world that was better for me.

It whispered lies.

I knew, but I had to listen.

It spoke of a world of freedom, of peace, of serenity.

A world where nothing else mattered, a world where you never ever had to bear the burden of life anymore.

It spoke of Death.

And maybe that was the reason why I picked up the gun on the table beside me as I raised it up to my temples.

It infected my soul.

Controlling my movements as if I were nothing more than a puppet.

It's hand reached out to my heart as it melted the lock I had used to lock my demons, a lock every Monster had.

Monsters become what they are so they could protect the ones they love, to protect themselves.

Every Monster has a sob story, every Monster has its own demons.

My demons consumed all my thoughts but right then, an image appeared in front of my eyes no doubt sent by it.

A paradise.

It whispered one last word to me,
