i stoke his hair and look down to see he has fallen asleep. I kiss his head and move to switch his bedside light off.
"Mom?"
"Yes baby?" i look back to my son who opens his eyes
"Did Aunt Alice and Uncle Jasper leave because we're all going to die" I pulled him closer.
"no, i think they did it to make us safer" i replied. "no come on time to sleep" he cuddle into me more and i heard his breathing even out. Slowly I went to the door and turned back to look at him, Riley came up behind me.
"he's scared" i state "he doesn't show it anymore but until this is sorted he will live in fear. and i hate that." he wrapped his arms around me.
"with a mother like you he will be fine. Any trying to come after him will think twice seeing you" he whispered i sighed.
"let's go have a dip" i smiled a little and closed Ayden's door

The next day i drove with Riley, Leah and Ayden behind Bella's car to Charlie's. Ayden was talking 10 miles per minute about what he wanted to do.
"Oh then me and Nessie will decorate the tree with tinsel and barbells, we'll have cookies lots of cookies" i chuckled. We pulled up outside and Ayden was the first out running up to Charlie. I smiled closing the door as the rest of us got out. I walked up to Uncle Charlie and hugged him.
"you grown half a foot" the kids nodded as i locked the car. "seriously like six inches" Sue tapped his shoulder
"come on inside lunch is on the table" Sue smiled
"we got a tree to decorate" he said to the kids
"Actually I've got a few errands to run guys I'll be back soon okay" we all looked back to Bella who got back in the car and drove off. i shook my feeling that something was wrong and went inside with my family.
We decorated the tree and the rest of the house while the others had lunch i discussed presents with Riley where people wouldn't here. Well only Jacob and Leah. Once we finished it was dark and we set off for home. while Bella and Renesmee went in the main house i saw that Ayden was worn out. He changed and i tucked him into bed as he fell asleep.
I sighed as i watched tv when there was a knock on the door. i went and opened it. Bella was standing there.
"Bella? is everything okay?" i ask
"can i come in?" i nod and let her in we head towards the living room. Where Riley looked up and muted the tv. She sat down.
"this is for Ayden he needs it on the day we see the Volturi" she tells me handing me a backpack.
"what's in it?" i wonder
"i can't tell you the less you know the better. I'm the only one that's thoughts are safe from Aro. but what i can tell you is that Alice gives you the signal Ayden and Leah need to leave." i nod understanding.
"it might not come to that but if it does..." she trailed off.
"we understand Bella....i presume you have taken the same precautions with Renesmee?"
"yes" she answered
"i hope it never comes to it but okay" she stands up and hugs me. before leaving. I look at Riley then put the bag down in a corner.
