Poem Four: Old Faces

Walk into a silent room
Emotions come out in a blast
Feelings of joy and grace
Now just linger in the past

We used to sometimes talk
We used to always smile
Looking to the future now
We probably won't for a while

Sometimes we catch a glimpse
Look into each others new eye
Seeing inside each others soul
Though the old will die shortly

Now we travel down different paths
Each one brave and new
I cast my memory back
To the days of the few

We faced our truth
Said our final goodbye
Turning our backs away
Just trying not to cry

Months have quickly passed
Still looking back to our last
I sometimes see your face
But you just walk past
