Note: This analysis was first featured on Amino Apps, where I used to have an account. One of my analyses was featured on 2017 Amino (as one of the best posts of 2017), a huge honor.
In between my one-shots, I'll be spacing out the analyses I wrote. Since they were directed towards a less serious audience, the prose is more casual. I hope you enjoy!

Hello! In today's analysis, we'll be discussing how Seijuro Mikoshiba plays a key role in shaping Free! Eternal Summer. Without him, well... let's say Rin would've gone into a dark place. Rin's demise would've obviously dragged Haru down a little, therefore taking Makoto with him, then Nagisa, then Rei... and of course, Sousuke. So you see how Seijuro keeps the story going? No? Okay, I'll explain.

There's not much material on Seijuro to work with in the first place, so this one is going to be a little short.

When you first see Seijuro, it's during Samezuka's swim practice, and Rin isn't there. Let's stop right here for a moment. Since Seijuro is basically running the team, it takes a lot of time, willpower, patience, and leadership skills to lead a swimming powerhouse like Samezuka. Seijuro must be a natural born leader, an attribute that you can admire and respect.

Adding on to that, Seijuro isn't always the happy go lucky kid that people normally think of him as. He's actually very serious and strict towards his swim team. He stands and observes his swimmer's build, obstacles that they're facing, muscle development, and even their mental strength. If he believes one of his swimmers isn't up to par, he has no qualms about dismissing him from the team. This shows that Seijuro is very observant, down to earth, and well versed in muscles (he reads Monthly Muscle Magazine, after all).

Another little known fact is that Seijuro participated in swimming competitions during grade school, but he always placed second after Haruka

Another little known fact is that Seijuro participated in swimming competitions during grade school, but he always placed second after Haruka. This happened to Rin as well, didn't it? But Rin was mentally broken from it. Seijuro brushed it off, and eventually set a new record at Prefecturals in his third year of high school. It really shows you the difference in the two personalities.

Seijuro is also very supportive of his brother, Momo, and shows that he's proud of his younger brother a lot.
