Alec walked into Music, and surprise, surprise, Simon was already sitting down. As he walked past him too get to his seat at the back of the room, they fist-bumped and smiled at each other. 'Hey,' was all Alec said. When Alec had first met Simon, they hadn't gotten along, but after they teamed up to prank Jace, the two had become friends. Plus, Simon was also an excellent archer like himself. They weren't best friends, just friends. Alec made that clear.
'Hey Alec,' Simon replied. The two weren't the only people in the room. A guy called Jem Carstairs was sitting in front of Alec, Jordan Kyle and Maia Roberts were on the desk next to his, Meliorn Whitewillow and his sister Kaelie were on the front row and Sophie Collins was behind them. There were three others that Alec didn't recognise, but one of them had white hair and another had bright blue eyes. He was looking at them curiously, but was interrupted when the lesson bell rang and right on time, their music teacher Miss Fairchild strutted in. She was a young teacher, and very elegant, with long smooth legs and flowing brunette hair. Today, she was wearing a black t-shirt tucked loosely into a black flowing skirt that reached a little below her mid-thigh. She was wearing red stiletto heels and a white blazer, and Alec couldn't help but think that Izzy would approve. Of course, unlike some of the other male or female students, Alec wasn't attracted to her, but she was definitely his favourite teacher. As she sat in her chair, she shouted to the now full class .
'Guys, shut up!' She was nice, but people knew not to get on her bad side. The class quietened immediately. As they sat in the silence, Miss Fairchild began. 'So class, does anyone know where Mr-' but broke off as the classroom door swung open. Alec looked up and gasped. The person that had walked was the gorgeous stranger that Alec hadn't been able to get out of his mind. Their eyes met and Alec blushed deeply but kept their eyes locked. The guy smiled lazily at him, but tore his eyes away as Miss Fairchild interrupted them. 'Mr Bane, nice of you too turn up. Sit down please,' she looked at him slightly disapprovingly but Alec could see the humour behind the glare. She turned away from him as he sauntered over to his seat. How could I not recognise him Alec thought. His whole persona attracted attention, whether purposeful or not. 'So class,' Miss Fairchild began as Alec finally stopped staring at the Bane guy and looked at his desk, still blushing as she spoke. 'As you may know, today is the start of this terms project and you will be doing it in pairs. You're task will be to create a piece of music using instruments, vocals and the editing equipment next door. Your piece can be about anything, but both people have to contribute. Kapeesh?' Miss Fairchild had a thing for saying things like that. There was a chorus of 'yeahs' around the classroom as she continued. 'So, pairing. Mr Lewis will be with Miss Roberts, Mr Kyle with Mr Morgenstern, Miss Collins with Miss Whitewillow, Mr Whitewillow with Mr Branwell...who else...' she paused thoughtfully and Alec slowly became worried. He hadn't been paired with anybody and the only three people that were left were Mr Bane, Jem and one of the people he didn't recognise. Alec didn't know Jem, but the handsome stranger would be a massive no and the unidentified girl seemed very strong-minded. Alec knew enough strong-minded women. 'Miss Herondale, you will be with Mr Carstairs and that leaves Mr Lightwood with Mr Bane,' Alec looked at Miss Fairchild with pleading eyes but she just smiled. 'Is everything thing alright Mr Lightwood?'
'Of-of course, Miss Fairchild,' Alec stuttered.
'Well that's music to my ears,' and the classed groaned playfully. Miss Fairchild was still looking at Alec, and she winked at him. Suddenly everything clicked into place. Miss Fairchild knew that Alec was gay and had watched Alec when he was looking at Mr Bane. She had obviously put two and two together. Shit Alec thought, and gave Miss Fairchild a small glare but smiled at the same time. Wait, does that mean that she knows that HE'S gay? He thought, but wiped the idea quickly. Why would he like Alec? 'All right class, get into your pairs and get on with it!' Alec was still blushing at the table when he heard someone approach him. He looked up and saw the dazzling male smiling his lazy smile at him. He really DOES have an amazing smile Alec thought as he slid into the chair next to him.
'Hey, I'm Magnus,' he said, holding out his hand. Alec took it and shook, his hands shaking a little as he stared into Magnus' eyes. They really were beautiful.
'H-hey, I-I'm Alec. Alexander L-Lightwood,' he stuttered and Magnus laughed. Alec blushed an ever deeper crimson causing Magnus to laugh harder. He has a nice laugh Alec thought and smiled a small smile back at him.
'Your so cute when you blush!' Magnus stated and their eyes met, Alecs' rosy cheeks illuminating his blue eyes. They smiled at each other, not knowing that Miss Fairchild was watching them. This is gonna be fun she thought.
