I saw it again, reliving it in my dream, not being able to escape, or tell myself to open my eyes. The raging, cruel flames which spread violently, tearing apart my home, my happiness. Everything in my small, little world that I had grown to be accustomed to, and took for granted, expecting it to always be there. It all faded in front of me once more.

Like a flightless bird who's wings had been clipped I was frozen in place, like a stone statue, unable to do anything.

Blood spilled out everywhere, my crumbling mansion became silent with no one left alive inside of it, and in one fell swoop all that there was was fire. A cruel natural element that doesn't smolder with joy, but instead blazes with hellish vengeance on everything it touches.

With cold, stinging tears trickling down my flushed, grimacing face I pleaded to myself, in my mind, begging my brain to wake me up from this gruesome bad trance that I was under. The horrid ordeals flashing continously in my mind.

But, then I felt my warm, child sized hand clasp around a spidery long, cold one, and I felt familiar claws which seemed to soothe me somehow.

The bad dream which had netted around me like a strong cobra would around its prey slowly broke apart into a million pieces, and I was able to pry my clouded sky blue orbs open.

There standing beside me was Sebastian, the Demon who had saved me, and who I had come to think of as my dark guardian for not once has he left my side since the day I first turned into a Vampire a couple of weeks ago.

He has become my shadow, my compass, my devilish protector, and I was grateful to him.

I tightened my grip even more around Sebastian's pitch black taloned hand, making his piercing magenta hues stare down at me.

"Another nightmare?" He queried, and I merely nodded, going to stand up from my little slumber, but then I felt my knees turn to jelly.

Trembling unevenly, I began to sway like a ship fighting rocky waves, and I started to fall. Though before I knew it I landed against Sebastian's chest, and I felt him wrap his arms securily around my petite frame.

"Are you alright?" He asked, his deep set gaze staring practically into my soul.

"Sebby, why does it hurt?" I questioned, feeling my insides turn into a boiling twisted up mess, like my whole body was being branded with a scathing metal pipe.

Sebastian placed me back down gently onto my bed, and turned to leave.

"Where are you going?" I urged, jolting back upright, a sudden quake of fear rushing over me. Mostly because I just didn't want to be alone again.

"I'll be back in a moment." He reassured before leaving in a flash of black, and I laid back down onto the soft, feather filled pillow.

Those small comforting words of his wrapping me in a cocoon of relief.

Ever since I first met Sebastian a few fortnights ago I had grown to enjoy his presence even if it was a bleak, dark, shadowy one. I trusted in every sentence that that Demon said, taking it to heart, and even if some may say I'm a fool, I don't care. I can see more then just a beastly Demon when looking into Sebastian's vibrant hues.

Growing a tad bit impatient I stood back up, and paced around, waiting for him to return. But, soon Sebastian did come back, gracing me with his presence yet again, but much to my astonishment, and disdain I saw a freshly mangled up corpse of a man in his clawed grip.

With a faint squeak I stared at the bloody dead body, the man's horrid expression sending a shiver down my spine. Yet, what was this sensation? I had the desire to suck out the departed males blood, and I felt my eyes flicker between blue, and crimson again.

"Drink." Sebastian simply ordered, dropping the lifeless body at my feet, and I immediately shook my head.

"I can't... Even if I am in pain because of lack of blood. I just don't want to kill innocent people merely to squelch my hunger." I protested, the tingling, burning feeling inside of me blatantly disagreeing with me.

"If you don't get enough blood then you'll eventually become weaker, and weaker, and be in such pure agony that you'll want to die, but won't be able to." Sebastian informed me, making a small sigh slide out of my lungs.

Carefully, I crouched down, picked up the corpse by his shirts collar, and I bared my fangs towards the nape of his cold neck. Though just as my pearly whites grazed across the nearly frozen flesh of his skin near his shoulder I hesitated. I was unable to do it, testing Sebastian's patience to the limit.

"That human is already dead, so there is no use in wasting fresh blood." He spoke with conviction, yet the weakness in me still won out.

I just couldn't... Even though I wasn't technically human anymore I still harbored human emotions, and I just couldn't seem to man up enough to sink my teeth into the corpses flesh.

I clamped my mouth shut, and softly placed the dead man back down onto the floor.

"I'm sorry, Sebby. But, I just can't do it yet. Maybe I'll just wait around for someone to die of natural causes, and then I'll bite their neck."

Glancing over I watched as Sebastian took one of his sharp claws, and slit his palm, instantly drawing blood to the surface.

Before I could turn away I felt his hand clutch around my jaw, his nails lightly digging into my neck to get me to stay still like a puppet on a string. Forcing my mouth open he stood above me, and let his deep pomegranate shaded droplets of blood drip onto my tongue, and back of my throat.

"From now on until you're ready to kill someone on your own I'll be your blood." Sebastian said, and I licked my plump red lips, staring up at him with widening iris's.

"Thank you, Sebby. Thank you for being so nice."

"Nice? Don't mistake my charity as being nice, girl." He warned, but I merely brushed his comment aside, still touched by his sacrifice.

I grazed the pads of my fingers along the open wound on his hand, and with a gentle kiss I felt the cool skin of the inside of his palm against my lips.

"Well, I still appreciate it."
