The year was 2016, and the world had changed so much over the many years. Victorian England didn't exist anymore, and it was now a marvel, a thing of the past that everyone just read about in history books, or saw in museums.

Carriages were now cars, buildings built from ramshackle brick, and stone were now grand windowed skyscrapers that loomed above the asphalt.

The world consisted of so many different, amazing things that weren't even possible, nor thought of back in the day.

But, even so, there were still traces of the past which still hung around despite it being the 21st Century...

Sebastian walked along the busy streets of London, passing by the cars which zoomed down the bustling intersections.

Traffic cluttered around, causing ruckus, and honks to be heard from miles away as the signs, and billboards flashed in bright blinding colors.

Sebastian walked past the many bystanders that either were immersed in their phones, or submerged within the music that was blaring from inside their wireless headphones.

The handsome crimson eyed male donned a tailored black suit, an expensive silver watch, a leather briefcase, and black gloves, but now they weren't used to cover up a contract sign, instead merely to conceal his stained black nails.

He stepped out from within the campus of Oxford University where he worked diligently as a Professor, and the Demon carried a bundle of long stemmed red roses in his grasp as he made his way to St. Paul's Cathedral. Reminiscing momentarily, he thought about how he had once watched the cathedral be rebuilt after the fire in 1666 with Elsbeth.

He walked towards the cemetery, past the white stone columns, vibrant in bloom gardens, and golden statues, past the many other unimportant headstones that he could care less about.

He headed towards a single marble headstone that was tucked away from the others, placed underneath a small blossoming tree surrounded by other wild rose bushes.

Sebastian's wearied gaze narrowed as he laid eyes on the familiar stone which was now in sight, the same stone that he has been visiting for many, many years now.

The same twinge echoing in the Demon's soul like usual as he stared down at her nostalgic name, the very name that he had worked so hard to have never be on a gravestone, and yet here it was anyway, despite all of his efforts.

"Hehehe~ Back here again are you, Sebastian Michaelis?" The raven haired male heard his longtime acquaintance, Undertaker, say as the retired Grim Reaper came strolling over with a bouquet of white lilies in his own grip.

"You visit Elsbeth's grave far more then you visit that Phantomhive boys grave, you know." The silver haired funeral director noted with a raspy chuckle.

"Though I suppose Ciel isn't a boy anymore. He grew up to be a fine man, married Lady Elizabeth, had a daughter of his own, and died peacefully on the same night as his beloved wife at the age of seventy. Such a sweet story, unlike how I thought his life would go. To think he actually found happiness, and he even named his daughter Elsbeth too. And, you never got to eat his soul." The scarred face mortician spoke with a laugh before setting the fragrant lilies down onto the grave.

"I couldn't devour Ciel's soul after Elsbeth died, he was too much like her." Sebastian confessed, placing his own bouquet of red roses down beside the white lilies.

"I've said this before, but I'll say it again, Sebastian, it was quite gusty of you to have Elsbeth be buried in a church of all places. After all she was technically a creature of hell, and creatures like use aren't supposed to be buried in holy places." Undertaker stated with his famous Cheshire cat like grin plastered across his face.

"She deserves to be here." Sebastian retorted, his scarlet hues not parting from his loved ones name that was carved into the marble stone in cursive.

"Elsbeth was never a hellish Vampire, but a mere human caught up in the thorns of darkness. I, like you said, a Demon can never hope to obtain a final resting place in a church, but this is where she belongs." The tall dark male recalled.

"Though, looking back Elsbeth truly was a fool til the very end," The Demon blurted out. "She never did what I told her to do. Elsbeth went out in the daytime, despite my warnings. She didn't drink my blood when I told her to. She didn't listen to me when I said to her that she should stop helping humans because they only saw her as a monster. She continued to stay weak, and kindhearted even though I bullied her, saying that that pathetic heart of hers would only cause her more pain. And, when I said that I wanted her to live... She died anyway."

Sebastian's neon eyed friend patted his back, but still cackled anyway.

"Regret is a painful thing, isn't it Sebastian? All Elsbeth wanted to hear was the truth. That the only reason you left her way back then so many years ago was because you were afraid. Afraid because a mere human turned Vampire girl had made you weak since you, a ruthless Demon, cared about her so much. So, like a coward, you just left, but you regretted it every day afterwards," Undertaker badgered, keeping on.

"She just wanted to hear you say that you loved her, and that eventually you two could be together again, just like old times. If she were still around today you two could be perfectly happy together, living as happily as you used to, just now in 2016. Hehehe~ Its almost so tragic that its humorous."

Undertaker kept on laughing as he began to walk away.

"The Vampire, and the Demon. Another tragic love story that doesn't end in a Happily Ever After."

Sebastian crouched down on his bent knee, and grazed his gloved hand across his beloved's name, her smiling face appearing in his mind.

"I love you, Elsbeth. Always have, always will..."
