"Thank You, Sebby."

Many seasons had passed, the years had traveled by quickly, and I had grown up, abandoning my thirteen year old self. Still beside Sebastian I had grown to love him immensely, but I never could say that to his face for he would merely say that it was my human emotions getting in the way, but it really wasn't.

I did love Sebastian, and it wasn't just frivolous attraction that so many humans get lost in. He had warmed up to me a tad, and was rather caring. Keeping me out of harms way, helping me, and most importantly not leaving me alone. I liked that I had someone who was always there, and who I could count on no matter what. And, it just may be my imaginative, more optimistic side thinking this, but why would Sebastian continue to stay by me if I wasn't located somewhere in his soul?

I'd be happy if even just a small trace of me flowed in his heart, and I really wanted that to be the case. I was an adult now, and he had no real reason to stay beside me. He didn't crave my soul, we didn't make a contract together, and as far as just pity goes that seems a bit far-fetched considering how long its been since I first met him.

Even if he is an emotionless, menacing Demon I still think that they can love even if that may be just another one of my inconsequential calculations.

Peering down at the town of London below that was aglow in the warm hue by all the candles, and lampposts I sighed peacefully. I sat on the very tip top of Big Ben, the light spring breeze brushing past my warm cheeks.

Absentmindedly, I threaded my black fingernails through my satiny platinum strands, and watched the clouds of gray smoke puff out from chimney flues, the polluted, dirty clusters ascending into the navy night sky.

Contently, I fiddled with the hem of my long, dark dress. My silhouette outlined by the luminescent blue glow of the full moon.

Though perking my ears up I heard a plaintive scream echo throughout the mysterious alleyways below me, catching my attention.

Instinctively, I jumped down off from the large clocks minute hand, and fell down onto a shingle covered rooftop, my movements quiet like an owl.

Peering down into the alley where I had heard the shrill, almost eardrum bursting shout I noticed a scruffy looking little boy being chased by a hoard of sinister looking men.

The thugs ran the lad down, tossing rocks at his feet, and they yelled about how they were going to kill him.

Without a second thought I landed right smack dab in the middle of the thugs, and the boy.

Grabbing hold of the kids hand I tugged him behind my back protectively, and glanced over at the hooligans.

"Step aside, lass. You may be a rather pretty penny, but you're in the way." One of the men spoke up, his tone slightly slurred, and I could smell the stench of rich alcohol webbed around his tongue.

My crimson eyes took over, and they shimmered in the midnight darkness as I licked my pearly white fangs.

Black, dark shadows swirled onto the cobblestone, grime covered ground, and I watched as the gang immediately collapsed down onto their backs.

Sauntering over to them I picked up the leader by his shirts collar, taking a sniff of his rather nice smelling blood, but I just dropped him back down against the stone floor.

I couldn't kill them even if they were bad, I just didn't have the heart to do so. So, I just simply enjoyed seeing them scurry away like terrified mice before I turned back around to the shaking little boy.

With a gentle smile, my blue eyes returned, and I crouched down to his level, dusting off the shoulders of his tweed jacket.

"Are you afraid of me?"

The boy nodded at my question, making me a bit taken aback as I watched him stare up at me in almost horror. The small lad backed up against the brick wall, his faint whimpers making me sad.

"I was just helping you... Tell me where you live, and I'll take you home safely." I spoke in a soothing hum, extending my hand carefully out towards him, but the boy just slapped it away.

"Vampire! Monster! Demon!" He barked out before fleeing away from me, running quickly down the street, and I just sat crouched there a bit startled.

Did I really look like that much of a monster? I didn't change visibly that much since becoming a Vampire, yet why am I scary?

"What are you doing?" I suddenly heard Sebastian's velvety voice say from behind me, causing me to jolt a little, and swivel around to look at him.

"Trying to help a little boy, but he ran away from me."

"Why do you waste your time helping these weak humans who only see you as a monster?" Sebastian recalled.

"Well, because someone has to," I answered, looking over at him like a sad puppy. "And, if that's how you think then why did you help me?"

He remained silent, avoiding my inquiry entirely, and he just extended his hand for me to hold.

I accepted his gentlemanly offer, and he pulled me up off from the cold ground, but I grimaced. The blistering heat inside of me was back, and I collapsed down onto my knees.

Noticing a rather obvious frown knit across Sebastian's face he then effortlessly pulled me back up, close to his body, and caressed the side of my warm face with his claw adorned hand.

"You need blood, don't you?" He brought up, and I could only nod, not being able to lie to him.

"I'm sorry, Sebby. But, I don't like taking your blood. I feel bad."

He just glowered at my comment.

"I told you that I'd be your blood until you are able to kill a human yourself, and I do not care to repeat myself. So, drink since you're in pain."

Sebastian raised his wrist to me, and I just sighed, giving in since I knew that if I were to protest any further that he would just force me down, and make me drink his blood anyway.

Gently, I wrapped my hands around his, and sunk my sharp, needle like teeth into the flesh of his wrist, draining out some of his nearly black blood into my mouth.

When I was done I ran my tongue along the edges of my scarlet lips, and apologized again.

"Shall we go now? You've already let numerous people see you tonight. I should go, and kill them."

"Don't kill them," I hastily retaliated. "Please."

"Fine, but lets go." Sebastian commanded, taking the lead, and I just skipped over to him, linking my hand with his, lacing our fingers together.

Sebastian glanced down at me momentarily, and for a second I thought he'd rip his hand away, but instead I saw his face soften ever so slightly.

I smiled. "Thank you, Sebby."

"For what?" He asked.

"For being beside me." I answered.
