Ahch-To

Rey sighs as she sits down on her cot, alone. Looking around the small room, she's reminded of her makeshift home on Jakku. Reminded of everything she had to do to survive. Everything she had to endure. The loneliness.

She looks down and sees part of the broken lightsaber near her feet. She'd left it under her cot not knowing what else to do with it. She starts to relate to it. How's it broken just like she is after he wouldn't come with her. Just like how broken he was.

Rey closes her eyes and tries to stop the tears from falling. Tries to let go. But she couldn't stop. Every attempt made her think of him more and more.

Why wouldn't he just come with me?

She finally let herself go. Resting her head on her hands. Feeling the tears fall down her arms and into her lap.

Rey suddenly felt the familiar presence. She stood abruptly and hid the evidence of her sorrow. She looked down so as not to show her red, puffy eyes.

"What do you want?" She half mumbled, not looking up once.

Ben could feel how upset she was. He wanted so badly to reach out to her. To comfort her. But he knew he would only be rejected.

Ben was trying to suppress his emotions away from her as well, saying, "I just want to talk. Do you even remember what we said after you shared your vision with me?"

Rey couldn't believe what she had just heard. Not caring about showing her vulnerability anymore, she looks straight at Ben with tears in her eyes and exclaims, "Of course I remember. I also remember how you left me alone when you wouldn't come with me! We could've helped you!" Her voice becomes soft and somber, "We could've saved you..."

She found herself unable to say his name, not after everything he'd done.

Ben tries to hide his face again, but Rey notices the water in his eyes. She almost starts to feel the same emotions that flooded through her when she opened up to him on Ahch-To.

"Rey, can we meet in person? Not just through the force?" Ben pleads, desperate for her to accept but knowing that she most likely won't.

"Why? Why would I do that? How do I know you won't just arrest me again?" Rey's voice became rough and firm as she felt the anger rise in her.

Ben looks right into her eyes, hoping she'll understand. He raises his hands as if opening himself up to her and just above a whisper, he says,"Because I need you to show me my place in this."

In that moment, she couldn't stop herself from feeling sorry for him. She couldn't stop the tingling sensation starting in her stomach and rising to her chest, her heart. She couldn't stop the part of herself that told her there was still light in him. And she knew she had to do this.

"Where do you want to meet?" Rey asks.

Ben looks up at her in surprise, but eagerly says,"Where Luke Skywalker was all this time."

Rey was skeptical but decided to trust him. She gives him the location of Ahch-To and when to meet. She starts gathering herself together and preparing to leave without anyone noticing.

Ben arrived at Ahch-To before Rey did. This gave him the chance to look around the island, to see where Luke Skywalker was all these years. He started to think about all the things he did to get to this location, to finally face and kill his uncle. Yet, all of his efforts amounted to nothing.
