The masked man walked Christian to his home not to far from the main city of Paris. As they walked in he set down his violin case and walked Christine to the living room.
"You can sit right here I will go get some medical supplies to help with your face."
Christine nodded as he walked out of the room. Christine admired the home, it was very beautiful. All the curtains were a dark red, the couches were black, and there was a beautiful vase full of roses. Christine took off her cloak and set it on the chair across from her. The masked man walked back in with some alcohol and some cloths.
"I'm sorry i don't think I introduced myself, my name is Erik Destler."
"Are you the famous composer?"
"I wouldn't say I'm very famous but yes I do compose operas."
"I can't believe it's really you! My father use to let me sing your pieces. They are so beautiful."
"You sing?"
"Yes my father encouraged me to sing probably because he was a violinist."
"What's your fathers name?"
"Gustave Daae."
"His music was beautiful."
"I'm sorry I never told you my name, I'm Christine Daae."
"Well it nice to meet you Christine. Let me see your face."
Erik looked at her face seeing that there was still pieces of wax he needed to remove and he needed to clean it so it won't get infected.
Erik put some of the alcohol on a cloth.
"This might sting but not for long I promise you."
"Ok."
Erik gently cleaned Christine face an made sure to be careful of the sensitive spots.
"Alright that seems to be done."
"Thank you so much you are too kind."
As Christine tried to hide her face Erik gently grabbed her hand.
"You don't have to hide your face from me. Believe me my face is much more hideous than yours."
"Can you show me your face?"
"Yes just promise not to run away."
Christine nodded. Erik slowly put his hand in his mask and removed it from his face. Christine gasped at how scarred it was.
"Who would want to hurt such a kind man?"
She said not realizing she said it out loud.
"I was born with a deformity and my mother beat me. She then sold me to a traveling fair where they called me the face of death."
"I'm so sorry."
Erik looked into her light blue eyes and suddenly felt a connection with her.
Christine must have felt it to because she now had tears forming in her eyes
"I guess were not that different after all."
"Christine you are far more beautiful than I am."
"No I'm not your the true gentleman and genesis."
"Thank you. I think it's getting late let me show you to your room."
Erik said grabbing his mask. Christine stopped him.
"Please don't wear that mask around me I love your true self."
"Alright."
Erik walked with her upstairs and opened the door for her.
"I'm sorry I don't have any night wear for you but I promise tomorrow I will get you something."
"Thank you Erik."
"Goodnight Christine."
"Goodnight Erik."
Christine closed the door and felt very strange but it felt nice to have someone look after her and take care of her.
