Christine was putting on one of her new dresses that Erik brought her when she realized that today would be her first day at the opera house. She decided that today she would wear her hair down. It's the first time she has done it since she lived with her Step mother. She finished covering her face with make up, she decided that when she goes out for singing she will put on make up and save her mask for after shows. She put on her shoes then grabbed her things to leave. She walked down the stairs and saw Erik waiting for her at the door.
Erik's POV
She looked beautiful. She told me the other day that she will wear her mask after singing so it wouldn't be uncomfortable. I grabbed her black cloak for her and waited for her to come down the stairs. I could tell she was very excited for her first day she couldn't take the smile off her face. She was beautiful when she smiled. She was gorgeous even without makeup I can't believe these feelings but I can't stop them.
Christine's POV
As we left the house I became very impatient. I can't believe that I will be singing at the Paris Opera House. This has been my dream since I was a little girl when my father would tell me stories of the Famous Opera House. Music has been the one thing I have loved in my life, an now Erik is helping me bring it back in my life. I look over at Erik as we walk down the street, he has his normal black attire on with his white mask. His hair is slicked back as usual and he is carrying his black bag with music sheets for his new opera in it. He really is very handsome even without his mask. He's so kind and gentle and he plays music beautifully. As we walk up the steps of the opera house I feel as excited as a little girl. Erik opened the doors and held it open for me. I hesitated a little but walked into the most gorgeous hall I have ever seen. It was beautiful on the inside and on the out. I heard music being played from the stage and a dance instructor teaching some girls. But then I heard the most curious thing.
"Christine."
I heard it nearly in a whisper. I turned to Erik thinking he had called me but he was holding the door for the other ladies.
"Did you say something Erik?"
"No. Why did you hear something?"
"No it's probably just my mind playing tricks on me."
Erik's POV
O no not again. This is the seventh time this month I have heard about this ghost. The workers and the ballet members seem to believe that there is a ghost in the opera house. They even convinced the managers that this thing is real. I can't believe in things I don't see before me plus what would a ghost want to do here?
Christine's POV
I continued to walk with Erik down the halls as he gave me a tour of this amazing place. We reached his office and I noticed two men in there waiting for him to arrive.
"Good morning gentlemen what can I do for you this morning."
"Monsieur Destler Good morning. Who is this?"
"This is Ms. Christine Daae she will be joining the opera."
"Good morning Ms. Daae."
"Speaking of Operas that what me and Monsieur Andre have come her to talk to you about. Have you written another opera for this season?"
"Yes I just finished it this morning with some help from Ms. Daae."
"If she helps you finish operas then you might just have to marry her."
I suddenly felt heat flood to my cheeks. Married to Erik that's obscure... or is it? What am I thinking I just met this man. But maybe I can grow to love him. It will tell in time.
"Shush Andre don't make the young woman feel so embarrassed on her first day."
They both shared a laugh as Erik looked over at me. I tried to hide my blushed cheeks but he saw them as soon as I faced him.
"Will that be all gentleman?"
"Yes thank you Monsieur Destler. Have a nice day Ms. Daae."
As they left I felt more comfortable and less embarrassed. I could tell that this opera house will have its ups and downs.
