Dear Diary,

Why did my sister choose the wrong path, she had been smart and had always done the right things. She found herself a boyfriend and she was extremely happy, that was all my family had wanted for her.

So what went wrong? How did she end up dead in an alleyway her body disoriented and a knife sticking out of her body, near her chest? We never got to see her body but we had seen a picture an that picture has haunted me for the past two years.

How do smart people make the wrong decisions, leading to their demises?  How can I find the killer when we didn't know anything about Gaia before her fall, she isolated herself from us and that had ruined us. We had never seen her boyfriend and we don't know if it was him or someone else.

Love Vasilis.

---

Gaia.

She was a work of art, she was more like a mother to him than a sister and that's what made it harder when he had to stay away from her.

She is a bubbly person, always happy and ready to help anyone, anywhere and anytime.

There isnt a single bone in her body that was evil, except the times she hung out with her best friend, Vasilis wasn't sure who she was but he knew she was friendly, her chocolate-coloured eyes were full of cheerfulness that made her look like an exotic beauty, her skin, a warm brown colour that left any man wanting her and yet he saw her like another sister- another mother and he called her Mimi.

Gaia was in love with everything she saw - her love sparkled through her eyes leaving the people around her feel the same way about an inanimate object. She was confident, and that had ultimately been her downfall. A downfall that too her away from their family and had created a barrier, they weren't able to talk to each other as the barrier got bigger and one day the barrier became non-existent just for the barrier to turn into an ocean, it was unbearable.

Gaia, loved the attention she received from her family and that was all they thought she needed not to take the wrong pathway, but Vasilis realised that she yearned for something more, something they couldn't help her because she wanted the love they gave from somewhere else and she had to go and find it.

Something about the woman from yesterday had reminded him of Gaia and Mimi, she had the confidence that Gaia had strutted every day but she also had the calming aura that Mimi had turning anyone's frown upside down.

He wasn't sure why the man had chased the woman, he had a strong build and looked decent, but he felt a sense of familiarity especially when he saw the man walk off, the back of his head looked so familiar butVAsilis dismissed it, "I'm going crazy" He mumbled.

---

Drowned in his thoughts Vasilis watched the football match with interest swarming in his eyes, Paris Saint Germain FC were taking down the Bordeaux team and that had him hooked, ignoring his mother calling him.

The darkness of the TV screen snapped him out of his daze, he was angry, ready to attack his sister, Gaia for being mean. He looked up ready to scream but stopped as soon as he realised it was his father - His eyes widened in horror, happy that he stopped in time before screaming at his father insulting him in any language he knew.

His father narrowed his eyes at him and Vasilis backed down, scared to death that he was going to be meat chops that second. He stood up straight and feebly asked his father, "whats up?" He had given him one look and he knew he had to be in his room within the next second or all hell would break loose in the Salvatore household.

Vasilis gave a curt nod and ran like the floor was on fire, realising silent panicky squeals, he had run past the balcony but stopped abruptly as he heard hushed whispers, laughter that was uncontrollable spilling out of a girl's mouth.

He peeked out towards the balcony, keeping silent and tip-toed his way and slipped his head slightly through the blood red curtains.

"Gaia?" Vasilis whispered the disbelief was evident in his hushed voice.

He saw his sister facing the window and a man's back facing towards Vasilis, the blonde hair was shimmering in the sun, resembling the sun itself. She had her hands draped on the man's shoulder and he heard her sister giggle again.

Giggle?

He knew something was going on as he heard his sister giggle, which is something she hasn't done in years. He flew backwards as Gaia's eyes shifted towards the balcony window.

---

Vasilis was trying to concentrate on his school work, the maths equations jumbling into one of his eyes, the tiredness was getting to him but he had to stay awake as his maths test was tomorrow, and he knew that  Ms Dubois would butcher him if he didn't at least get the passing marks, before Ms Dubois butchering him, his parents would have already been packing to send him to hell with one kick. He shook his head and tried to focus but he can hear Gaia's loud voice filter through the strong thick walls that were between us.

"Gaia, keep quiet!" He screamed, his exhausted voice had made the end of his screaming sound hoarse and breathless.

He heard an instantaneous stop, silence filtering through the house. Glad his parents weren't home or else he would have gotten told off for screaming at an elder, "Elder," He snorted, Gaia was more like his annoying twin than his older sister who was four years older than him.

He took out of his headphones, he felt a headache coming on so he had to stop any noise that would make his headache turn into an unbearable migraine.

His sensitive ears strained to hear the smallest of noises, searching for something to distract him, "No you hang up," someone whispered he walked out of his room and placed his ears on Gaia's mahogany door, trying to find out where the sounds came from and it had come from Gaia's room.

"I love you J!" Gaia had exclaimed quietly into the phone, that had been on speaker.

"I love you too Gaia," The voice, deep and monotonous came through.

"Bye, my parents are going to come home soon," Gaia spoke quickly and cut the call after the voice returned a small protest.

He heard his sister squeal, his thoughts all over the place, "why was Gaia so happy and acting like a love-struck girl?" was the first question that came to his head.

More importantly, he had thought, "Who's J?" He moved away from her door and walked back into his room, long forgotten his maths test and the fact that he hadn't revised for the teat at all.
