After the encounter, I made an effort to visit the boy at least once a day. I don't know why, I just felt like I needed to in some weird way.

"Hi Branch," I say as I see him sitting up on a tree branch.

"Ohh boy, here comes trouble." He says sarcastically and teasingly rolls his eyes.

" Hey, now you can't hate the girl who brings you food," I say, holding up a bag filled with food.

" Quick question where in the heck do you pull all that stuff out of..." he questions, and I shrug and blankly say.

" A magician never reveals her secrets?... I think." I shrug and toss the bag up to him, and he nearly falls off the tree trying to catch it.

" Don't throw food, food is life!!!" He growls, and I roll my eyes as I climb up next to him.

" Whatever, without me, who knows how you would survive?" I tease, and he huffs.

"I'm kidding Branch, don't get your girly panties in a twist." I joke, and his face goes slightly red.

"D-don't say inappropriate things like that!" He scolds, and I chuckle.

"You can't do anything about it, at least I ain't cussing, "I point out, yea I learned the hard way that we were brought up from very different families. Plus, the cheerful little skittles seem to influence him, at least a little bit, even if he refuses to admit so.

"I don't know who's worse, Bergens or you," he jokes.

"Would you rather me eat you? 'Cause that can be arranged," I playfully say, and he hides behind the trunk of the tree.

"You're annoying..." he whines, and I shrug.

"Fine then, I will leave," I say and jump off the branch.

"Wahhhhh!!!" He yells, reaching for me as I grab a different branch.

" Looks like you care after all" I tease.
He growls and pretends to ignore me.

"You need to stop being loud or you will attract a Bergen..." he scolds and I give him the look.

"Really I wasn't the one screaming a second ago...and either way who cares if I get eaten..." I whisper the last part of the sentence.

"Huh what was that?" He asks

" nothing" I said pulling myself back up .

"Hey why do you not want the other trolls to know you exist?" He asks.
I chuckle," Do you really need to ask?" He gives back a small smile.

"Point taken, if I had the choice I probably would have done the same" he sighs looking out over the village.

"Then why visit me, they are bound to notice you sooner or later" I shrug.

"I don't know the answer to that Branch" I respond.

"I wonder if this is what they call friendship?" He questions, giving me a nervous glance.

"Uhh...we are more like tolerated acquaintances?" I shrug, and he nods.

" I think I like your definition better, you know I thought all other trolls were annoying, but...you're all right," he says as he nudges my shoulder.

"Right back at ya, loser."

I stretch my arms up, but every night I hardly get even a wink of sleep. So, not thinking I lay my head on Branch's shoulder and I feel the coolness of his shirt sink into my cheek.

"Uhh..."

"Oh sorry" I apologize as I sit up straight.

"No its....it's alright" he shrugs and I smile slightly as I lay my head back down comfortably and it doesn't take long till I doze off completely feeling a little more safe.

"I'm glad I met you (y/N)" he says when I couldn't hear him.
