also, today at sundown begins pesach (passover)! plus today is good friday! and sunday is easter! so many holidays rn omg ++jade and paco are coming home for the weekend😭 and my parents said i could have gabe over for seder (pesach meal) tonight if it's okay with his parents that he'll be partaking in customs that aren't part of his religion, like why is everything going good rn
so now my question is: should i invite gabe??? like idk man, this would be the first time my parents see him as "ari's boyfriend" instead of "ari's friend who could really use some jesus" NOT THAT THEY'RE SUPER JUDGY! i just feel like it'll be awkward a bit, not to mention seder traditions include drinking four cups of wine so everyone will be acting a fool💀💀 but i was on the phone with gabe last night explaining how pesach/passover was today at sundown, he seemed really interested ndnejrjr maybe i should just formally invite him lmao
also remember what i said about having lots of rules for kosher? yeah well those rules multiply for passover!! like we have to eat matzah (unleavened bread) for eight days :) and stay away from chametz (bread products and/or anything made with yeast). we also have to clean a LOT smh i hate that part. another custom is to have the firstborn child fast, it has something to do with the egyptians or something OOPS idr. so normally i'm the only child, therefore i fast, but now i have three older siblings. my parents still told me i should fast since my sister isn't jewish but it's all gucci bc fasting is cool ig
