It was the party's favourite time of the week, Friday. Every Friday the party would meet up at somebody's house for a sleepover, tonight it was at Mike's house. Max and Eleven lived pretty close so they would walk together while Joyce would drive Will and Lucas and Steve would bring Dustin. Tonight they were watching E.T., Eleven's favourite.
"Hey Hopps," Max exclaimed when Hopper opened the door, "is El ready?"
"Yeah, she'll be right out," he said. "El come on honey."
"I'm coming." Max heard a voice sing from inside the cabin. once El got to the door Hopper kissed her on the head, told her not to be up to late and the two girls walked out the door and into the forest.
El usually talked the whole way there and Max would usually tune her out and get lost in her own thoughts. Max was thinking about the movie they were about to watch when she realized things were a bit quieter. El wasn't talking anymore, she wasn't there!
"El!" Max screamed at the top of her lungs, "El!"
"No, no ,no" she thought, "Mike is going to be so mad." Tears were running down her face. She was just starting to be accepted into the party and now that she had lost El she knew they would all hate her again.
Before she knew it she was running to Mike's. She knocked on the door violently and Karen opened the door. Max pushed past her and ran to the basement. "Mike!' she shouted.
"Hey Max, where Eleven?" Mike asked. Then he looked up to see her tear stained face and no El in sight. "Where's El?" he said more worried this time.
"Mike let me explain-" Max whispered before she was cut off by Dustin, "What did you do?" he exclaimed.
"Shut up Dustin." Lucas yelled at him
"Where's El?!" Mike shouted over all the bickering.
"I lost her in the forest." Max whispered. Mike felt tears stream down his face, he wasn't prepared to lose her again, he would never be.
"Everybody get your bikes." he said calmly. There was no point in fighting, what he had to do now was find Eleven and bring her home!
