Chapter 6

Me and Yum were in my room in the catacombs, just waiting. He handed me Midas's necklace and I put it on quickly. "I'll win for Midas. For my mother. For my father. For Travis. For you Yum. I'm win for Aplhie and Sara. I promise." Yum nodded and I stepped on the platform, I honestly embraced my death. I was ready.

The first thing I saw was sand. Sand everywhere. A desert. This was no place for a granddaughter of Poseidon to be. Then I saw brick walls, ruins. Like a paintball arena, places for cover while we shot at each other.

I saw Missy, Daughter of Ares, next to me growling. Diana, daughter of Hera was to my left. I told Zak to run but he refused. He said he would flee when I did.

The gong rung and I sprinted towards the cornicopia. I grabbed a backpack and slung it over my shoulder. Then I sprinted towards a belt of knifes. Someone came running at me with a sword and I panicked. I stumbled back and grabbed the belt. This is how I die. So early. So young. Suddenly an arrow appeared in the boys skull, I turned and saw Zak with a bow. "HEY ARROW BOY! DUCK!" I yelled. He hit the duck and I threw a knife, hitting Hartley from Demeter. Two cannons fired.

LLet's flee!" I told Zak. He nodded and we left west. We were pulled behind a wall and I grabbed a knife holding to the attackers throat and not hesitating to cut off there head. I turned and saw Dane, Son of Hera. A cannon fired.

I looked through the backpack and saw a bag of dried beef , like they always have, and some crackers. Two canteens. Some rope. A sleeping bag. Zak also had a bag, and a knife as well as his silver bow.

"Can you sense water?" Zak asked. Two cannons fired. 5.

"I've never tried." I admitted.

I closed my eyes and focused on water, a tug in my gut was driving me farther west.

"West, just farther I think." I tell him. HE nods, "So, whos you Victor parent?" I ask.

"Frank Zhang, Son of Mars. They gave me a Greek training shirt though." He says. "Your obviously Perseus and Katie Jackson's kid right?" He asked.

I sighed, "that's me, always. People always say 'that's The Jackson's kid' or 'Percy's daughter!'" I groaned.

Suddenly a twig snapped and we dove behind A short wall, crouching, I see the careers. Missy, Icarus, Gabbie, Dave, and Mira.

"Come on Mira, keep up. We need to find that traitor and the girl! How'd she even get a 12!" Icarus yelled.

A cannon fired again.

"Are you sure it was worth leaving the cornicopia?" Missy asked. I gasp, they left the cornucopia to the other tributes. I made a running motion to Zak. He nodded.

We started crawling back to the cornicopia but I knew we couldn't make it.

I stood up with a knife and launched it into Dave, Son of Athena's Head. He fell, a cannon fired. Gabbie, a small twelve year old, brought out a sickle and swung at me, An arrow hit her skull. A cannon fired.

Icarus was smart enough to sprint away, Missy as well. Mira growled, "I'll be back watergirl!" She sprinted away. I got my knife, he got his arrow. We ran to the cornicopia the see a battle raging. Mikie was in a sword fight with Velma, a huntress. Suddenly Phoebe came up from behind and stuck a knife in his heart. The huntresses grabbed two bags and left, seeing they couldn't get the last bow. A golden bow was perched on a box but Diana, William, Joey, and Leonard all fought for it. William had a large cut on his arm. Joey was attemping to stab Leonard but failing. It was bloody.

Donnor was nowhere to be seen, neither was Tse. Both gone..or dead. Tia was not there either,nor was Bart, Son of Aphrodite. Both tributes of Dionysus were missing in action which left...

William, Leonard, Quinnlen, Joey, Diana, Jaiden, Izzy, And Francisco.

Zak silently knocked an arrow and aimed at Izzy, daughter of Hermes. She fell.

I could only think one thing, I want that bow. "I say we stay here until they leave And then w-" before he finished I stood up and went into battle. Jaiden approached with a sword and attempted a disarming technique but I cut her leg and she fell, I brought my knife down. "I'm sorry. May you rest in piece." I whisper. I ran to the battle for the bow and threw a knife taking out William, I slid and dodged an attack from Leonard but her cut my arm causing me to cry in pain, causing Zak to aim an arrow at his heart. A cannon fired.

I grabbed the bow and sprinted east, the opposite way of water. I'm an idiot. Then I kept running, I heard someone behind me but I didn't stopped till I tripped. Then I realized it. The climate changed...I'm in a cannon...with a river...and a cave.

I filled my canteens and rushed to he cave only to find Zak behind me. "You sure can run knives." He panted. I just chugged water as he filled his canteen. Then he rushed over, "Oh my gods your arm!" He said examine the cut that tore through my jacket and shirt.

"I'm fine." I say yawning, "just a flesh wound."

"Fine, get some sleep. Im on first watch."

Faces appeared in the sky,

District 3 - Dane

District 5 - Hartley and William

District 6 - Bart

District 8 - Dave

District 9 - Leonard

District 10 - Jaiden

District 11 - Izzie

District 12 - Grainy

District 13 - Mikie

It was unnerving the way it went in an order. Zak killed, I killed, Zak killed, I killed. It made me shattered into a nightmarish sleep.
