"NO!"

Roman dived in front of the person responsible for lighting the sticks. Logan and Patton had hidden in the crowd but they had a clear enough view to see what was happening in case they had to do something. All four kingdoms were shocked at the gesture of protection, especially the ones with higher titles. Virgil's mouth fell ajar, his face displaying an unmeasurable amount of shock.

"Roman!" He whispered so that the king couldn't hear him
"What are you doing! Get out of here!" The prince did anything but listen to his request. He stood tall in front of the wooden stave plank that Virgil was meant to meet his undying fate. King Richard pushed the lighter away to confront his son.

"Roman! As your father and your king, I demand that you move away from the devil!" Virgil flinched at the word devil. Roman stood his ground, not moving an inch.

"Look around us!" He shouted so all could hear him.
"This is what happens when we look at each other with hate because of our differences! So what if you control water or if you control earth! We're all the same, aren't we?! We're all humans! All living and breathing on the same Earth! So why should we live in hate because of who we really are?!" The crowd began muttering to each other at the prince's speech. Some muttering how they thought he was crazy, other's seeing eye to eye to his point. King Richard looked around in anger at the crowds

"Prince Roman Thoma Sanders of the Flamma Kingdom! You have no right to make wild accusations abo--"

"Yes, I do!" Shouted Roman
"I have every right at my disposal! And it's all thanks to the person behind me" The prince turned his attention back towards the one strapped to the wooden stave. Virgil's eyes were filled with salty tears and his body was visibly shaking. Roman turned back around to face his father after smiling at him.

"Virgil made me understand that all people should be accepted. Whether you have a lot of anxiety or have something special about you, you should be accepted no matter what. And that's why I love him with all my heart" The crowd gave off stunned gasps at the revelation from the prince. The most surprised one of them all being Virgil himself. He did hear Roman say the same thing back in the dungeon, but he merely thought of it as a dream for him being on the verge of unconsciousness. He wouldn't think that the prince of Flamma would risk his life and reputation for a Mare servant who is known as a devi--

"And does Virgil share the same feelings as you?" Asked King Richard. Roman turned around to face the person who he fell in love within the past 3 months. Both their expressions were nothing but terrified. Roman had never been more scared in his entire life. This answer could mean his life and/or his heart. If Virgil said yes, both of them could be killed, but at least they were killed in peace. But if Virgil said no, they would both die in pain, there wouldn't be a happy ending.

"I..." Virgil stuttered, tears flooding down his cheeks.
"I do" That was it, the two words that he was looking. Two words so special to the prince. A smile grew on his face as he turned back to his father with a firm look.

"So, if you want to kill him, you'll have to kill me too" King Richard's facial figures morphed into one of disgust and shock at his son's decision. When he got his hands on that demon, he was going to be sorry. But then an idea came into his head, a very sickening and disgusting idea. His look of shock changed to a shape of understanding.

"You're right, Roman," He said walking forwards, making King Mark's face change to one of disbelief. The king looked out to the crowd, faking a smile.

"Look at us, fighting over some child. The Elementum Stone is just a legend, a legend that has brought down the path of war. What are we even fighting over? New land? More soldiers? Well, you know what I say to all that?" The king of the Flamma kingdom turned his head towards Mark, gave him a wink, then a head tilt towards his son. The king tilted his head in confusion before his expression changed to a firm look; understanding what he wanted. Without letting anyone else see, he uncurled his fist, his fingertips begin to dance with green sparks. Small vines began to emerge from the ground a little further away from where Roman was standing, far enough from the stake. Fortunately, his attempts to keep it hidden proved to be unsuccessful for the Lord who'd fallen in love with an Aura serf noticed it like a sore thumb. He tapped Patton on the shoulder
