Hey you guys, I'm back! Thank you for the patience and the support!

Love y'all. Enjoy.

To say that Virgil was surprised to see a sopping-wet Logan and Patton return to the campsite would be the understatement of the year. It was a horrifying sight, Patton unconscious -- and for all Virgil knew at the time, dead -- in Logan's trembling arms. As soon as the two came into Virgil's vision he lunged forward to help Logan who was obviously struggling with Patton's weight.

"What the hell happened?!" Virgil demanded, grasping hold of Patton. He saw Logan shake his head weakly.

They set Patton down in one of the canvas chairs and Logan paused for a moment, chest heaving, before he collapsed into the adjacent one. "He fell into the pond," he explained breathily, eyes closed. Virgil had never seen someone look so tired before. The boy was shivering too, from the cold, no doubt. His shoes were also missing, and Virgil could see burrs and sticks clinging to the fabric of his socks.

Roman soon caught sight of the three of them, coming out of the tent hastily. "What's going on?" he asked, eyes wide and locked on Patton, whose shallow breath was barely visible.

"Patton fell into the pond, apparently," Virgil told him so that Logan wouldn't have to.

Roman hadn't blinked yet. "And you jumped in after him?" he asked Logan incredulously -- to be honest, he sounded a bit impressed.

Logan nodded. "Of course," he said sternly, as though it had been his only option. He took a moment to blink slowly and gather his thoughts. He still didn't seem to be completely focused on what was happening in the present."Patton's not a great swimmer and it was a long drop; he could have died. I couldn't just sit there."

"Drop?" Roman questioned. "Where were you guys?"

An uncorrelated sigh from Logan. "Heaven Hill."

Virgil decided not to point out the dark parallelism and somewhat worrying irony of that statement. Patton was okay; that was all that mattered. Instead, he said, "We'll take it from here, Logan, you can go lie down or something."

Logan shook his head slowly. "No, no," he insisted, "I'm staying here until Patton wakes up. It shouldn't be too long."

And almost as though on cue, Virgil saw the movement of Patton's eyelashes quivering out the corner of his eye. He turned, brows knit together, to determine whether the boy was waking up or not.

Sure enough, Patton's eyes opened after a couple of seconds and he cleared his throat weakley, looking around, eyes foggy, like a newborn puppy. He looked confused for a moment, almost as if he didn't know where he was. Once his eyes locked onto Logan, though, his head stopped rolling and he ceased looking about.

"What... where are we?" he asked hoarsely.

Logan looked so relieved. "We're back at the campground, Patton," he replied. "Are you feeling okay?"

Patton sighed, his eyelids heavy, and turned to look at Roman and Virgil. "Yeah, I think. Just... tired."

Virgil's hands were clamped together, nails digging into his palms. He wanted to know every detail of what had happened, but he knew that it was too much to ask. Instead, he asked, "Should we take him to the hospital or something?"

Logan contemplated. "I don't believe that's necessary," he began hesitantly, for he didn't seem quite sure himself. "I got him before he had inhaled much water; I believe he just needs rest."

"Good thing it's our last day," Roman sighed.

They hesitated for a moment, no one knowing what to say. Then Patton spoke up. "Did Logan come and get you guys?" he asked.
