7|Amazement

I open my eyes even if I wasn't sleeping. Who knew that it's so hard to sleep over in a plane? It's really hard! I look over at my side, both Sis and Mom were fast asleep.

I shrug, maybe I'm just a light sleeper on the plane.

I look at the digital time that was on this plane, it read: 02:00AM in bright red.

It's just morning? Does that mean we arrived?

I look back at Juleka whose snores became a new rhythm to a song, "I'm sorry about this Juleka.. But no hard feelings?"

I grab her silky, soft hair without thinking.. Maybe and pull it hard making her shriek.

Her eyes were wide open and she glares at me, "Luka, did you do that?!"

"Uh.." I stoke my hair with my hand and then shrug.

"What are you two doing?" I hear Mom ask beside Juleka.

We both look at her and say in unison, "erm.. Nothing!"

She shakes her head at both of us with a soft smile carved across her face, "well, would you look at that?"

"Look at what?" I ask.

"That." She points at the window. "I'm pretty sure we're here."

I look out of the window and see the yellowy sky and white fluffy clouds, the birds flying straight.

I look at Mom in amazement, "are we really here?"

"I'm sure of it!" She answers.

"Whoo! Hoo!" Juleka says in excitement.

"HOLD ON! THE PLANE WILL BE LANDING SHORTLY. SO BE SURE YOU ARE BUCKLED UP!" We hear the announcement again.

I grin with happiness, I can't believe it! We made it! Now we just have to wait for this plane to land.

I look at Mom and Juleka, they both were 'buckled up'. Something about that sentence makes me laugh.

I feel a bit nervous and a bit in fright when the plane flies down , it feels as if I was falling off my seat which I wasn't.

After a few minutes of being scared we landed safely and quickly.

"We're here!" I say.

We were later told to take off our seatbelts and get ready go down.

We grab our suitcases and walk over to a taxi and enter.

This all feels like a dream, if it really is, I really don't want anyone to wake me up.

After a long drive, I think the driver dropped us to a hotel.. Or a house.

I look at the medium sized mansion and was so amazed.

"Mom?"

"Yes?"

"Are you.. Sure.. This is a hotel?"

"Of course!" There were no traces of lies and nervousness in her voice, so she must be telling the truth.

We enter the.. The house looking hotel and I see that no one was inside of this hotel, it was completely empty.

I turn to look back at Mom, "do you want me to call the driver and tell him that there was a mistake?"

"Luka, this is no mistake! Now, your room is- actually you can pick whatever room you like!"

"Thanks Mom!"

I smile at this huge.. Hotel? Well, whatever it is, we'll be staying here for a while and I want to do whatever I can to make my dreams come true!
