5. I Thought Wrong

Ross' POV:

I wake up as the birds chirp. I move my hand to the other side of my bed and don't feel Laura. I sit up quickly and look around my room. I see small blood stains on my sheets.

I scream and pull on my hair. I let her get taken again. Ugh! I start to cry. I get a shirt on, wipe my tears, and go downstairs.

Someone jumps on my back and all I do is grab their arm and throw them onto the couch. I see that I just threw Laura.

"Laura!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I scream and give her the biggest hug and a kiss on the lips. "Laura!!! I thought you were taken again!" I say and cry with joy.

"Why would you think that?" she says and plays with my hair.

"Because you weren't next to me in bed and there were blood stains on my sheets." I say and look around her to see where she is bleeding.

"Well I woke up this morning because your cat scratched my arm and that is why there are blood stains on the sheets. After that happened I couldn't go back to sleep so I got up and watched a couple movies. Believe me, you would know if I were taken. Thank you for being worried though. I love you." She stands up and grabs my hand. She tries to pull me up, but I stand up. She takes me over to the kitchen. She lets go of my hand. "Close your eyes baby," she giggles.

"What are you up to?"I ask questioningly.

"Nothing much. Okay now open your eyes... and CATCH ME!!!!!" She screams in a terrifying voice.

I open my eyes because I hear her scream loud. I see someone holding her over the balcony by her shirt.

"You little--, you let go of her right now!! Laura, don't worry. I'll save you---" I say, but the person drops her.

"If I can't have her, then neither can you," he says and disappears into the air.

I scream and cry and pull my hair and all of the sudden I wake up screaming.

"What's wrong baby?" I hear Laura say.

"Laura?! You're alive!!" I say and hug her and don't let go, "It must've just been a nightmare because you're here and not dead. I won't ever let you go. I promise you, Laura. I love you. Please don't die." I cry and I am still holding her.

"Ross, honey, are you sure you are okay? Do you need to talk about the nightmare." she asks and escapes from my grasp.

"I'm fine," I tell her what happened in my nightmare and she comforts me. She tells me it will be alright. I had thought she was gone.

I thought wrong.
