•Meet The Brothers•
CHAPTER1: Started With A Crush
It started with a crush.
A major crush. Ya, know the kind that makes you blush by just thinking of him? Yeah, that kind.
Those are always the worst kind of crushes because you know that if he looks at you, damn, you're basically a goner.
And I for one am the first in line to make an absolute fool out of myself when it comes to looking, let alone talking to my crush.
I guess that's probably why my heart is all jacked up and pounding crazily in my chest as he walks in the classroom.
His eyes meet mine and butterflies erupt in my stomach. He smiles kindly at me and I try to return it but instead, like the freak I am, I grab my textbook and hide my face.
Now I know what you're probably thinking: You're a loser, Alissa.
Well I'm usually not like this, honest.
Normally I'm the good, quiet, straight A senior looking at colleges and deciding on what I really want to be when I'm set free into this crazy world.
But when it comes to Sam, I'm like a fish out of water.
I've been crushing on this boy since my freshman year when I moved here.
Just everything about him is perfect, from the way his blonde hair neatly, yet messily, lies upon his head, to the squared, rim, goofy glasses on his nose.
He's a quiet, bookworm who has every intention in making it into his dream school -the University of Manchester.
The one time we actually held a somewhat conversation was a few days ago in English class.
Mr. Banks assigned us all a partner that day and it was like a gift from above when he said Alissa and Sam as partners.
I stuttered like an idiot at first, but he said nothing of it, just smiled. We talked the entire class period and I learned much about him and I felt like finally I might have a chance -but no.
And no it's not because he was interested in someone else. It's because when I was just about to ask him if he wanted to hang out later, my disease of a brother interupted the conversation.
Levi Hope.
Levi, I had known, was monitoring the conversation the entire time from a few desks away. In the corner of my eye, I could see he was shamelessly eavesdropping.
I guess that's Levi Hope for you.
He had rudely interupted by asking Sam for some help on the paper we all were to be working on, even though he didn't actually need any help.
I haven't talked to Sam since and I have Levi to thank.
I understand Levi means well but he's just like William and Dylan. They're too protective over me, like I belong to them.
I know I'm their only sister, but that doesn't mean they can scare off every boy that takes interest in me.
I now sit sullenly in my seat, wishing I could replay the last few seconds and smile at Sam, not hide from him.
I'm not a loser, no. I'm an idiot. A total and complete idiot.
I let my head droop as I slump into my seat.
Today, I will talk to Sam. I will ask him out, and hopefully let the pieces fall in place. I can't just hide behind a book all the time.
