Accidents

It was all an accident really. Well, not really an accident since there is no such thing as an accident; everyone has the ability to make a choice, and that choice leads to an event, whether or not said event was wanted, predicted, or expected. Everything is a cause and effect situation; human beings are presented with a situation and they act upon it, causing another situation which they then have to act upon that. Everyone has the ability to make a decision, so really, there is no such thing as an accident. Typically, people just say something was an accident when they don't like the outcome. So, in this case, if Logan Sanders was your typical everyday person, he would say his situation was an accident.

He didn't want to fall for the man up on the stage, singing his part as Prince Charming in this particular theatrical musical of Into the Woods. He didn't intend for this outcome, and honestly, he had never even dreamt of it. Past Logan would have scolded him, he shouldn't have fallen for such a flamboyant, arrogant, impulsive, fanciful, talented, beautiful, romantic- shit, he's getting off topic- enthusiastic man in the first place, he should have shut that goddamn door as soon as it cracked open.

But look at him now; he's now seated in the fourth row in front of the pit; seventh chair in beside the left aisle; inside the large, magnificent theater looking up at his boyfriend do his thing on stage with bored, but loving, eyes behind a stylish pair of Warby Parkers. He never understood Roman's passion for musical theatre, honestly, he secretly hoped that it was just a phase when they first started dating, but alas. Roman pursued his career as an actor, singer and song writer, and Logan has never failed to miss a play, musical, or release yet so far. Although he always voiced his indifference towards music, he always showed up with a handful of flowers, perhaps a card, and a gentle kiss on the cheek followed by praise that somehow managed to boost the 'Prince's' ego even further, and affection both of them enjoyed.

Finally, the reprise of Agony finished and Roman, along with the other prince, exited the stage. Logan clapped along with the audience and checked his watch. It was getting late and he had to put in grades before Monday. He sure hoped this silly and unrealistic performance would end soon.

The final scene ended, cast and crew took their bows, cheers erupted, and the curtains at last closed shut for the night. Logan got up from his seat and headed out of the building. He knew this routine; it would take Roman another thirty minutes to get undressed, receive compliments from the crowd, and most likely cry a bit with his fellow actors and actresses before getting into the passenger's seat of their car.

Logan always had enough of the dramatics, and there was no way in this universe that Roman was getting out under half an hour, so he'd just leave to wait for him outside, leaning on the hood of the car to grade papers, read a book, or catch up on the latest news in politics or science.

How many years have they been doing this? Almost three, their anniversary was coming up within two months, and Logan wouldn't have it any other way.

Accidents are usually titles given to situations people don't usually like. Well, Logan didn't like his situation, so it was, therefore, labeled it an accident. He didn't like this outcome of his past decisions. Why would he? He disliked theater because every story was illogical and predictable, he was annoyed by loud and obnoxious persons, and he wasn't phased by your typical and romantic gestures. Nope, didn't like any of it. He absolutely, positively, loved it. Loved it all, and he loved his Prince Roman from the top of his ascending aorta to the bottom of his inferior vena cava. He couldn't be anymore pleased with this outcome, even if it was an 'accident'.
