Logan's morning was always the same on weekdays. He created a routine for himself and soon it became habit.
At exactly 6:00 am, he would awake to the sound of his phone's alarm clock and silently crawl out of bed to avoid awaking Roman. He would then get into the shower and come out at exactly 6:12 ever single time. He'd get dressed in the clothes he would place out the previous night before and then make a pot of coffee. He'd drink exactly two cups while he made himself a lunch and ate breakfast. Today was no different... mostly.
Roman's mornings were always random. Some days he'd wake up with Logan, sometimes even before, and others he'd stay sleeping until 9. This particular morning, he woke up and walked into the kitchen to find his gorgeous boyfriend making himself a chicken salad for lunch.
He walked up behind him, still a bit sleepy, and wrapped his arms around his waist, burying his face into the back of his neck. "What are you doing?" He mumbled, tickling Logan's warm skin and getting his nose a bit wet from his still damp hair.
Logan seemed unperturbed by Roman and continued to chop a cucumber. "I'm making my lunch. There is coffee if you want it."
Roman's eyes tirelessly wandered over to the pot of coffee. It was too far so he just reached around Logan and took his mug instead.
"You're not going to like it," Logan said simply, sliding the vegetables into the container of lettuce.
Right on cue, Roman spit the plain black coffee back into the cup. "You're so bland," he whined.
Logan finally twisted his body around in his arms so they faced each other. He took the mug out of his hand and took a sip himself. "I'm simple and straight to the point so my coffee should be too; it only needs to wake me up in the morning and increase my blood pressure. There is no need for artificial flavoring or six lumps of sugar."
"There is nothing straight about you, honey, I don't get it," Roman joked softly before pecking a kiss on his nose.
Logan scowled slightly, shifting himself away from Princey's hold. "You're a flamboyant idiot."
Roman tilted his head back and laughed. His hair was messy and out of place, he wore no makeup, and he was just wearing his red and white pajama pants. He was beautiful in the morning, Logan thought, because he was ordinary. Logan liked ordinary once in a while.
"You're so cute, Lo," Roman mused, still smiling so his eyes crinkled at the ends and his cheeks were lifted high.
"You're tired," answered Logan. "You should go back to bed."
Roman ran a hand through his hair, sweeping it to the side like he always did. Logan always wondered why he did that; Was it to fix his hair? To show off his pretty face? A gesture to show that he was nervous? A gesture to make him look hot? It definitely did the last, but Logan wasn't so sure if that was why he did it because sometimes he seemed almost unaware he was doing it. The teacher sighed, Roman was such a complicated piece of art.
"Nah," Prince said, getting his own cup of coffee. He dumped hot chocolate into it, then some French Vanilla creamer, and finally a spoonful of sugar (to help the medicine go down). "I'm up now so what's the point?"
"To get you out of my way," Logan grumbled. "What are you doing today?"
Roman shrugged now taking a bite of Logan's toast with Crofters jelly on it. "Probably going to the gym and the seeing Jason for my new song."
"When you are finished with your duties could you stop at the grocery store?"
Roman swallowed his food before speaking. It took Logan way too much time to teach him that. "Sure thing, what do we need?"
Logan picked up a pen and paper. "Depends on what you want to eat this weekend," he spoke as Roman went to wrap his arm around his waist again to see what he was scribbling down. "We are low on coffee so we need that, and milk too. Perhaps some more lettuce and vegetables, and I do believe there is a sale on chicken breasts so you can pick up a package of those too. We need paper towels as well. Can you pay for this?"
Roman nodded. "Yeah, Into the Woods just went in so I got it."
"Alright. I'm going to be later coming home this afternoon too," Logan said, taking a last gulp of his coffee before grabbing his keys. "It is a mandatory day today so I'll be home around 5:30."
"Sounds good! Do you want me to start dinner?"
"I would be extremely grateful for that, thank you." Logan slipped on his coat and Roman placed a kiss on his cheek.
"So long, farewell auf Wiedersehen, adieu."
"Adieu, Ro. I'll see you later." He gave him a short kiss on the lips and then headed out the door.
