Logan clicked his tongue with annoyance, drumming his fingers on the counter as Roman's voicemail went off for the fourth time.
"Greetings, wonderful citizen! You have reached the phone of Prince Roman. Unfortunately, I am unable to respond at this exact moment so please leave your name and message and I will get back to you as soon as I can! Thank you, have a gorgeous day!"
"Hey," Logan began, trying to keep his voice calm. "I'm not sure if your phone is dead or something, but it would really be nice to know if you're still alive. Just," He inhaled sharply. "Just please get back to me as soon as you can? Alright?" He then hung up.
It was eight o'clock on a Saturday night and Logan was home alone, letting the food get cold. Roman left around one, saying he was meeting up with his new friend, Faux, but he also said he would be back for dinner. He was two hours late.
It wouldn't be the first time Roman was late for dinner, his mind was rarely focused and he got easily side tracked, but he was never two hours late. Not to mention he'd always call as soon as he realized that he was unable to be there on time and then rush home as soon as he could. Tonight, Logan didn't even get a text.
Logan was not usually an anxious person, there were very few things that made him paranoid because 95% of the time, he was able to remain calm and think and predict all possible outcomes of a certain situation which twisted his stomach. The reason why he was so nervous about fully coming out of the closet was because he could never truly predict how people would react; he could lose his job, lose Roman, lose his family, lose his pride and reputation. However, when it came to his dork of a boyfriend not answering his phone, he wasn't about to call the police even if he was a bit worried.
They lived in city; Roman could have gotten mugged or kidnapped. Logan determined those possibilities to be very low, Roman was strong and loud. If anyone tried to steal or hurt him in anyway, he could defend himself, and if he couldn't, well, he'd certainly alert anyone who could help him. He might have gone drinking and collapsed somewhere, but that possibility is low too, above the theft and kidnapping though. It's been awhile since Roman's gotten drunk to the point where he doesn't know what he's doing and there shouldn't be anything that would cause him to get that drunk.
So perhaps he's just fooling around with his friends and his phone is dead, thought Logan. You'd think he'd borrow a phone or something.
Logan sighed, taking a seat at their wooden table in the middle of the kitchen. Their house was not a big one, it was actually quite small, but perfect for two. The living room was the biggest room in the house, able to hold a couch, two love seats, a television set, and a treadmill along with several bookcases filled with movies, novels, and silly collectibles Roman likes to keep.
The kitchen was next, with the table and then counter space lining the walls, the front door, a refrigerator, and stove. They didn't have a dishwasher, but what was the need for one? There were only two of them... for now. On the track they were on, Logan wouldn't be surprised if they got another family member within the year. And as nice as that sounds, he just wasn't ready for another, he liked it with just the two of them, but Roman seemed to want more.
The man sighed, picking up his fork and started to slowly eat. It was fun, picking out names with Roman that one night, but he wasn't really serious about it, he was just humoring the extravagant Prince. It was also fun when they tried to pick out a place they'd go for their honeymoon, but it was so unrealistic! They barely had enough money to get another car for Roman, how could they travel to Europe? A wedding alone would be expensive enough, traveling halfway across the world would just desolate them.
Suddenly, the corners of Logan's mouth perked up as he thought of traveling. When they were younger, Roman would say they'd see the seven wonders of the Earth just so he could compare them to Logan and then determine they are absolutely nothing in his mighty opinion. Logan would always roll his eyes, saying he was nothing that great when it came to appearances, but Princey would insist that he was gorgeous. Gorgeous enough to marry along with his intellect, stability, maturity, and wit.
