"SILENCE!" the voice of the god of the sky boomed as he slammed his thunderbolt down on the ground. The thundering sound that followed soon after silenced all heavenly beings in the heavens.

"I have called you all here to discuss a major decision I have made," he continued once all eyes were on him.

"And what is that, my lord?" the goddess of family asked as she gently touched his arm.

He watched how everyone looked at him with wise and aged eyes. These were his family. The deities he grew to love after millions of years. Deities he watched the human world with and protected. Through thick and thin, they were together. Yes everyone had disputes and waged wars against each other but they were simple sibling rivalry with the gods.

But now, the time has come where he watched them tire out. Not physically since gods couldn't age or tire, but mentally and spiritually. They were alive for eons and with a sudden realization, he knew what he had to do. And hopefully, they wouldn't object...much.

"With a heavy heart, I have realized how old we truly are. We have forgotten our beginning and have yet to see our end," he finally began and everyone frowned.

"What are you talking about, my lord?" asked the goddess of wisdom. Her pure white and silver owl cocked its head in the process.

"I mean, I have come to the conclusion that our time here is ending," he finished and the god of war laughed. His polished silver helmet with bright fiery red feathers swayed with his head. The goddess of family waved her peafowl feather fan around to shush him.

"I'm sorry my lady but what do you mean, my lord, that our time is ending? We are gods! We do not simply end," he replied and the other gods and goddesses gave their exclamations of agreements.

"Silence and allow me to explain," the lord of the sky cut in. "I know we do not end or disappear without willing it, but I believe it is time we do," he continued.

"What do you mean?" asked the god of the sea as he leaned against his trident and looked at the lord of the sky.

"I mean, it is time to pass on and allow a new generation of gods to take over," he officially concluded. But before anyone could protest, he explained. "The reason I say this is because we have been here for much too long. I see how you all are tiring out, mentally and spiritually of course."

"I concur with the lord of the sky," the goddess of the oracle cut in as she materialized in the middle of the room.

"Oh it's the witch," the god of fire and crafts commented as he played with his hammer.

"I am not a witch, lord of fire and craft, but an oracle chosen by the god of the sun," she continued as she adjusted her laurel crown.

"'Tis true what she says," the god of the sun explained as he polished his golden red bow.

"Hush brother. No one asked you to speak," the goddess of the moon whispered as she fixed her own silver bow and arrows around her shoulders.

"It's alright sister. I am merely confirming our dear oracle's statement," the god of the sun continued as he sent a wink her way. The goddess of oracle rolled her eyes then looked around the rest of the room.
