"It has been a century since our last meeting and not one of us have yet found a worthy mortal!" exclaimed an exasperated god of war as he threw his hands up into the air. "What sorcery is this? Didn't you say you could help us?" he demanded as he pointed an accusing finger at the god of the underworld who was busy examining his nails.

"I never said such a thing. I said I'd try to pull some strings but it's not my fault the Fates have a different motive," he replied with a nonchalant shrug.

"Why you—," began the war god before the lord of the sky held up a hand.

"Have peace, dear lord," he began and the war god glared at him while dark shadows began covering his body, a feature that set him slightly apart from the rest.

"Peace? PEACE?! YOU EXPECT ME TO HAVE PEACE?! You, old fool, are just that. A fool! You gave us such hopes and ideas to pass on yet no one has been spotted!" he roared as he slammed a fist on his throne's armrest.

"Oh dear god of war, you are ruining your beautiful face," the goddess of love chastised as she gave him a pitying look and he gave her a fiery glare, causing her to roll her eyes.

"No one said it'd be easy," the goddess of wisdom began.

"I did not ask of your opinion," he ground out and the goddess of wisdom sighed.

"Think of this rationally war god. Finding mortals with the capacity of holding a god or goddess title is not going to be easy," she began and he set his hard gaze on her next.

"Of course it should be easy! We were chosen were we not?" he demanded and she rubbed her temples, feeling more worn out than ever.

"If you would sit down and think wisely, you would see that's not the case," she began and he gave her a mocking bow.

"Oh if that's the case, oh wise one, then explain to us all how it should be," he told her with a sarcastic tone and she gave him a sharp look.

"Do not mock me war god. You do know what I'm capable of. You only have brute strength and a knack for winning wars but even that is nothing compared to wisdom," she snapped and he gave her a series of profanities but kept quiet.

"She is right, god of war," began the goddess of time and space as she fingered her precious triangle.

"Oh what's it to you?" growled the war god and she raised a perfectly trimmed eyebrow.

"I don't know how thoroughly your search has been but I have seen potential mortals. There are many who have the potential of being in our place. However, one cannot be strong enough physically and spiritually to hold these titles. They all lack the fundamental basis and true strength for being accepted on the Mount. And do you know what that is?" she questioned.

Everyone held their breath in anticipation of what she had to say next. Some already knew yet others were quite curious. "They lack intelligence, dignity, and humility. They do not have an open mind nor do they seek outside their comfort zone. That is what makes them weaker," she continued. "And that is what makes it so difficult for you to find."

"Then how do we fix this dilemma?" questioned the god of the sun as he polished his arrows.

"Well," began the goddess of family. She cleared her throat and proceeded. "I think it is our fault for not doing more for the mortals. We have been around for millions of years now and yet the humans seem to start forgetting about us and what we do for them. I feel that we are neglecting our jobs as gods and are just now living without purpose.

Our job was and is to make sure mankind is happy and provided things they needed and sometimes wanted yet now we find it a chore to do and the mortals have grown accustomed to it and forget that we are the ones doing this for them. They are now believing they are the cause of their success and only blame us once tragedy strikes. Of course, that's just us reminding them we're here but the outcome always ends up the same," she continued.

"But that doesn't answer the question," the god of the sun pushed.

"What the goddess of the family is trying to say, brother, is that we have to step up our game and show humanity once again who is in charge here so that more believers will gain strength and become choices for us," the goddess of the moon explained and his mouth formed an 'o' shape.

"But what do we have to do exactly?" asked the god of the spring festival.

"I say, if what the goddess of the family so graciously pointed out is true, that we begin proving humanity that we are alive and very much real. The only problem I see though is that all humanity will be quite impossible to truly change at once. We have to start small in order to keep balance in the world," the goddess of wisdom began. "We must start with those who already hold a lot of potential yet need just a small push in the right direction," she concluded.

"And pray tell, goddess of wisdom, what would you have us do?" asked the god of the sea as he stared at her with his trident standing proudly at his side. All other gods and goddesses stared at her, ready to hear her plan.

She looked at each of them before clearing her throat. "I say, each of us find a mortal who stands out more than any other. Watch them, learn their habits, their thought patterns, their way of living, and depending on that, send a little message across such as a bolt of lightning or a sudden growth of plantations for them. Show them that things do not happen due to them but due to us. Prove to them there is something bigger than them. Something more supernatural. They have to remember it is us and not them," she explained in the simplest term possible.

"So you want us to either create havoc or help them out," deducted the goddess of harvest. The goddess of wisdom nodded.

"Preferably the latter though. We don't want them to hate us," she replied.

"And if this were to work, what would happen?" asked the god of arts and crafts as he looked up from his tinkering.

"Well, I have confidence in my plan as should you. When have my plans ever failed?" she asked with a raise of her chin and everyone kept quiet at that. She had a point. All her plans were a success. Why should this one be any different?

"Very well then. It is settled. Set your sights on those with a higher spiritual sense and begin the plan. We need to hurry and bring them up to the Mount," declared the god of the sky and everyone stood up in unison before bowing at him.

"My lord," they all replied before fading away from the room. The lord of the sky was left alone with the goddess of family and they both stared down at the world below.

"I hope this all works out," she whispered and he gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

"Fear not, dear goddess. All will end well for us," he told her and he knew, even if nothing began yet, that something truly good was going to come out of this. This discussion gave him the answer he needed.
