| The Done Deed |
"My lord!" exclaimed the goddess of love as she gracefully rushed into the room. Not a strand of hair was out of place as she stood before him. She gave a quick bow and eyed him with a prideful gleam in her eyes. "I have found one and brought her up," she added and the lord of the sky sat up straight.
"Where is she? Who is she?" he demanded and she grinned and stepped to the side to reveal a young woman with long flowing golden locks that curled at the ends and hung loosely at her waist. Her skin complexion was pale but fair and almost looked like rich cream. She was fairly tall, however, not to the decree that she resembled an Amazon. No. She was the perfect height.
She had the perfect body- a small waist, full bust, a generous behind, and proportional lengths for her arms and legs. Her eyes, although closed, appeared wide and spaced out evenly. Her eyebrows were thinned to perfection and her nose was small like a button. She had full red lips and sharp angles about her face. She was a beauty encased in a clear bubble that kept her confined in a small timeless space- curtsey to the goddess of time and space who had it prepared should the gods find the mortals soon.
"She'd make the perfect goddess of love, yes?" asked the current one and the god of the sky shook his head.
"Remember, goddess of love, she may be beautiful, but she may have another role to play," he reminded her and a small frown etched upon her perfect face.
"Such beauty though," she commented and the lord of the sky stood up and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and made her look up.
"It's alright, dear goddess. Her role will not go to waste. I am very glad to have seen this. I believe, since you have found one already, you are free to go," he told her and her heart stopped slightly when she realized what he meant. He meant it was time to fade from existence.
Without realizing it, tears pooled into her eyes and slipped from its prison. Now that it came to it, she was afraid to go. Afraid because she wouldn't see the deities she has known for so long. Afraid because she didn't know what life was held for her on the other side. She was upset and afraid of leaving the only thing she knew for so long.
"My lord," she whispered as her voice cracked and he gave her a teary smile as tears pooled into his own eyes. He drew her into a hug and placed a kiss on the crown of her head.
"You have done an excellent job, my dear. I am so proud of you but it is time. You are free," he whispered as he pulled back. She tried to calm down but the tears wouldn't stop. She was sure her face was in horrible condition at this point but she found that she didn't care.
"I am going to miss you," she hiccupped and he cupped her cheek and placed a kiss on her nose.
"I will see you soon, goddess of love," he told her and she bit her lower lip to prevent herself from crying anymore. She simply nodded and turned away from him, only to see the whole assembly of the gods in the room. They all stared at her with drawn looks. Some had tears in their eyes but others revealed no emotion. She bit back cry and instead, gave a small strangled laugh.
"I beat all of you. I'll be reaching the finishing line first," she told them as she walked forwards. They all followed suit and soon, the goddess of love was engulfed in the arms of her family. She then allowed the dam of tears to fall and she cried as they told her words of encouragement and how great it was to live their lives with her.
