Maja followed behind the boys up the stairs and they waited as Andi unlocked the door, eventually the three of them walked inside. She wasn't too sure what to expect, so she instantly took a glance around their place while she took off her shoes. To her surprise, the apartment was relatively clean for two guys to be living in it. The layout of their apartment was completely the same as hers. The kitchen, dining room and living room where all one big, open area, all designed very modernly.
"Would you like a drink?" Stephan's voice snapped Maja out of her thoughts about how homely their apartment felt. So far her place was still quite empty and cold, she hadn't yet managed to decorate her apartment the way she would want to, but she promised herself she would, eventually.
"Juice please, any will do," she answered with a grateful smile while walking towards the large sofa, but something in the corner of the room caught her attention before she got to sit down. "You guys ski?" She questioned curiously, eyeing the sets of skis lined up in the corner of the room before she looked back at the two boys who exchanged looks.
"We're actually ski jumpers," Andi explained. Maja raised an eyebrow in surprise as she walked over to look at the trophies which were standing on a cabinet beside the skis.
She took a closer look at an engraving on the stand for one of the trophies, written on it was 'Andreas Wellinger'. She frowned for a second. It took her a moment, but then it clicked. "Oh my god! Andreas.. That's your name!" She burst out into awkward laughter. "I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed a little embarrassed. Andi just stood there with a wide grin plastered on his lips, he seemed somewhat satisfied with Maja's embarrassment.
Andreas joined Maja's side, his arms crossed over his chest. "Well, I'm guessing you're not into ski jumping since you don't know who we are," Andi stated more as a fact, making Maja shake her head in response to his question.
"No, not really," she confirmed and paused. "I know who Kamil Stoch is though," she chuckled.
"Oh yeah, of course you do." Andreas shook his head laughing.
"I'm more into snowboarding. My father was really good at it when he was younger and he wanted me to try it," she paused before looking up at Andi, who seemed to be listening quite intensely. "Surprisingly, I actually liked it."
Maja started snowboarding when she was 5 years old. At that age, it took her quite a while to even begin to understand what the sport was about. She worked hard and spent a lot of time to develop her skills, but as she got older, she wanted to try out new things and of course school got too much so she could no longer practice frequently. She won some national competitions as a teenager, but eventually, just like that, her beloved sport turned into a recreational activity she did whenever she found some time.
The three of them sat down on the sofa after Stephan brought over some drinks and cookies. "We made them ourselves, you should try them," Andi beamed proudly, referring to the cookies.
Maja raised an eyebrow as she glanced over at him in disbelief. "Why do I struggle to believe that?" She laughed a little, reaching for the glass filled with juice which seemed like the safer option.
"Oh fine! Fine! Stephan made them and I attempted to help," Andi finally admitted, rolling his eyes.
"Very badly attempted!" Stephan corrected his best friend, making Maja chuckle. "He made more mess than cookies." He continued to tease. Stephan was too busy laughing to notice how fast Andi grabbed the nearest to him pillow and swung it at Stephan's head. Even though Maja wasn't even the one who got hit, a small squeal escaped her lips at how hard the hit looked. Maja gaped at Stephan, waiting for his move, but the boy just laughed and threw the pillow, with very bad aiming, back at the younger boy.
