Unexpected

Doubts or just Jitters

*****Karen's POV*****

The first day of senior year came and I was worred as hell. I mean I was three months pregnant and I don't know what to expect. Since I already have a mini baby bump, my main concern was what to wear.

It was already 6:37 when I noticed Adan wasn't awake yet. "Babe. You gotta help me. Wake up." "Whats up." "I don't know what to wear." "I would love to see you in skinnies and a tank, nut I know you dont want your bump to be noticed. So wear some sweats and a baggy shirt like you used in freshman year." "Thanks babe!"

I went and pulled on some sweat pants. When I was gonna put on my shirt, I stared at my bump."Sweet baby", Ini sighed,"What are you exactly? We'll know tomorrow!" I became excited for tomorrow, but when school popped onto my mind, I dreaded it.

It was around 7 am when we left the apartment. We arrived at school 5 minutes later and picked up my schedule.
PERIOD 1: Science Mr. Robles
PERIOD 2: Math Mrs. Pannette
PERIOD 3: History Dr. Travis
LUNCH
PERIOD 4: Snr English Honors Mr. Indisatla
PERIOD 5:  Choir Mr. Stevens
PERIOD 6: Drama Ms. McDawson

As i read it, three people ran up to  me and said "let me see your schedule" simultaneously.  The were Ivy, Jean, and Luna! I handed them ny schedule and turned out we three has drama and lunch together. Besides that I had science with Adan and Gilberto.  Atleast we had a class  together.

The bell rang and Adan and I walked to science.  Gilberto had saved  our seats sunce we got to sit where ever we wanted.  The tardy bell rang and a slutty looking girl came in and walked to Mr. Robles.

"Why are you-" "I am fashionably late", the familiar girl threw her schedule at the teacher. "Excuse me but use your manners your manners! Now then....Aaliyah , I am gonna have you sit next to...hmm let me see...ah yes next to Adan. Adan please raise your hand." Aden obeyed and she walked to the seat in front of me. "Oh why hello Adan!" She then coldly stared Gilbert and I and said, "Karen, Gilberto." With that I knew she hadn't changed.

Aaliyah used to be Adan's girlfriend in freshman year. She would treat Adan like her personal slave by having him carry her bag while she talked to friends. When I met Aden, he was super peppy and full of laughter and happiness, but when I saw him be with Aaliyah, he looked really dull. Adan would give her all the love he could but she would pretend to do the same. Anyways, I decided that Adan should be happy with someone who would actually treat him right so I confronted Aaliyah one day at the park and told her to treat him better. She gave me a death stare and said,"Who the hell are YOU to tell me what to do!?!"  I replied that I was only an  to Adan acquaintance that I didn't like to see a friend suffer. "This ain't any of your business BITCH!" I glared at her offended and she thought that she had crushed me, but when I said,"Well I then hope you wouldn't mind if I made it my business too?" My comment offended her and she slapped me. I looked up and slapped her back. When Adan saw this, he knew that if you get in the middle of a girl fight, you are toast. He stepped away and just sat down to think of how significant it was that I was fighting for his happiness when it really should be him. He pulled himself together and grabbed Aaliyah and told her, "I am through with you." Aaliyah just stared at him as he walked away and took me by the hand. She transferred to another high school when sophmore year started and I haven,t seen her since. Until today. Class ended and Adan, Gilberto and I waited for Aaliyah to leave the room first so that we could then talk about the event. We then split up to get to class.

When Lunch came around, our group found each other and got lunch. On the way to the table, I asked them all if they had seen my twin sister Jill anywhere. They all replied with a no. Adan told the girls about how Aaliyah had transferred back to the school. After that we had some silence. Luna broke the silence when she asked, "Do you guys know what the baby is gonna be yet?" Adan said, "No not yet, but tomorrow we will find out. Do you guys wanna come?" They all agreed on coming and the bell rang. We all left to our classes.

Finally 6 period came around and I me up with Ivy, Jean and Luna. When we sat down, we noticed Someone come onto the stage. It was Aaliyah! We all decided to disregard that she was there and we kept on talking until she called my name.

I glanced at her as she motioned for me to go to her. I looked at the girls for guidance but we couldn't decide. So I went to her. "Hey Aaliyah. Whats up?" "Karen..... Listen me out ok." I nodded yes. "I just wanna apologize for how I ever acted to you. I know that I was wrong and I have decided that I wanna be your friend." I was shocked. How could she change her attitude against me so fast. "Uh I don't know but ok." "OH MY GOSH THANKS!" She hugged me and when she let go and walked away, I sped walk back to the girls and explained to them what happened. They doubted her like I did and then we started to talk about summer like everyone else. Once the bell rang, we left together to a lunch table in the shade where we sat at lunch. "Has anyone seen Adan or Gilberto?", I asked. Suddenly someone's arms grabbed my legs. I screamed and saw that it was Adan. Usually I would crack up but not today. Instead, for reasons that none of us knew, I started to cry. They all started to worry and when I told them that I couldn't stop Adan decided that I had to go to the hospital. As I had an examination and a small dose of morphine, we learned that that was just a mood swing.....what the hell. The doctors gave us permission to stay the night. I felt really cold so I asked him to sleep next to me. He agreed and we slept a good night.
