Unexpected

*****Karen's POV*****

Adan is lying down after coming home from his 3 month old job at Subway. Although it was still summer vacation, we were nervous about school starting. I mean like I'm pregnant and nobody knows! What will happen when my friends find out? How will our parents react? 

I sat on a beanbag in front of the tv watching Captain America: The First Avenger on FX.

Steve Rogers: Can I ask a question?

Abraham Erksine: Just one?

Steve Rogers: Why me?

Me: Cause you'll be a hot ass MOFO. that's why.

There was a moment of silence in my mind while I glance back to see Adan still in the Subway Uniform. I didn't want him to hear what I said because then he would go crazy to get Captain America's body. I didn't want that to happen. After all he was a tall version of scrawny Steve Rogers.

There was two knock on the apartment door. "Who can it be?" I immediately took the role of Rapunzel, I grabbed a pan and walked to the door and thought it over. "Should I tell Adan about this?" I looked back and saw his scrawny body on top of the sheets with an angel face. Nope I thought. I opened the door.

"Oh why hello there Karen.", It was his mom!,"What are you doing here any ways?" " Oh you know Mrs. Kaufman, I'm celebrating Adan's new apartment!" "That was 3 months ago........", She examined what I was wearing and saw my tiny belly,"KAREN ARE YOU PREGNANT?!?" I nodded with a lot of shame. "ADAN KAUFMAN GET OVER HERE THIS INSTANT!!!!!" Adan immediately woke up to the sound of his mother's voice. "Oh hi mo-" His mother slapped him on his face and then she blew up. "ADAN WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!? YOU GOT KAREN PREGNANT!!!!" She looked at me and asked sweetly, "I'm sorry honey, but honey how far in this are you?" "Three months mam" She calmed down a bit. "Okay well isn't this swell? Anyways, have you both gone shopping for the baby stuff?" We both nodded negatively and she replied," Well, since I am gonna be a grandma, we might as well go shopping." 

*****Adan's POV*****

We were walking around the whole baby isle at the Target in the town square. I would listen to what they were talking about, but I would never pay attention. Karen would eventually turn to me and say, "Isn't this cute?" or "Babe, How 'bout this?" I would answer positively but i just couldn't stop thinking on how I ruined her life. I mean like how could I do this to her? She was a great girlfriend, but she didn't deserve this. When we arrived home, I had to unload everything while Karen and my mom spoke about babies and pregnancy tips. When Karen invited her in for a cup of coffee, she agreed and I was closing the trunk. Karen walked into the apartment and my mom stopped me to ask me something. 

"Adan? Are you gonna raise this child with her?" "Of course ma! I love her and I will love our kid." "Do you promise to stay with her to raise this kid?" "Yes mam. I'll love her forever and I wouldn't leave he for anything." "You better live up to those promises. I love you." "I love you too ma." With that, we hugged. As we walked to the front door, my mom had a smile on her face that showed that she was proud of raising me to be almost perfect.

*****Karen's POV*****

'Hmmmmmm. I wonder what they must be taking about. Oh well I'll ask him later' I thought to myself as I made the coffee. When the coffee machine was up and running, I made my way to the crib box which was still in the living room. I decided to try and assemble it. When I opened the box, Adan and his mom walked into through the front door and he came running to me, " NO BABE I GOT THIS DON'T DO ANYTHING!!!!!" I looked up at his mom with my eyes asking what should I do, but all I saw was her laughing. When his mom left home, Adan and I decided to go to bed. "What did you and your mom talk about while you both were outside?" The curiosity killed me. "She asked me if I was gonna stay with you to raise the baby and I told her that I loved both of you and I would never leave you both for anything. I love you Karen." "I love you Adan. Good night." "Good night."

That night I had the most terrible dream. I dreamt that I was in the labor and delivery room. there were a lot of people and I couldn't see Adan. I screamed in pain and finally called for him, "ADAN! ADAN!" A nurse went to me and told me, "Do you really expect him to be here? Are you stupid or what?" "Excuse me?!?", I winced with pain from the contractions,"He promised that he would be here with me and that he would help me raise our kid!" "Well that was dumb. Did you really think that he would live up to his word? He abandoned you! HE ABANDONED YOU!"

I woke up and I was covered in sweat. It was 4:30 in the morning. I decided to pray that that would never happen.
