Freya felt a single tear fall down her face as she watched the dragons cheer around her. She took a step forwards to embrace the nightfury but pain stoped her and she fell to the ground. She tried to stand again but all she could manage was a small stumble. The dragons had stopped cheering and had gathered around close to see what was wrong with the royal. Her wounds had stopped bleeding but wouldn't heal. Freya had never felt this kind of pain before, it didn't so much hurt her but it left her defenceless and unable to function. Her head started to spin and eyes wouldn't focus.

"What's happening to me?" she asked frightened. Finally breaking out of his thoughts Hiccup rushed forwards to help the young girl. If the dragons could trust her, that was good enough for him.

"Stay still," he instructed the girl "the arrows that the hunter use are poisoned with dragon root, the less you move the less it will spread," Freya couldn't answer, her throat was dry and her tongue didn't want to work. She managed a nod hopping the young Viking would understand. He did.

"We have the antidote back at our island, it will take too long to fly there and back. You will have to come with us. You can ride with Toothless and I," her head throbbed and her sight spun. She had to close her eyes to stop herself from being sick. Gentle arms wrapped around her body and lifted her from the ground. The Viking gave orders to the other teens but Freya couldn't work out what he was saying. The soft swaying motion made by his walk calmed her slightly. The pain was increasing dramatically with small lulls giving the poor girl a false sense of hope that it would stop. Her body shook and beads of sweat rolled down her forehead.

"Please stay with us," a small voice called. Were they talking to her? Why were the so far away? The pounding of her heart range in her ears and her breathing was shallow. She couldn't take muck more of this. Her transformation had already taken most of her energy from her. The little sounds around her started to fade away. Taking one final breath she mustered all will she could.

"Thank you," she whispered before drifting into unconsciousness.

Freya's eyes fluttered open and she let out a groan. Looking around she noticed that she was laying on a bed in some sort of hut. The walls were bare apart from the occasional drawing of a dragon. Most were of the nightfurry in different positions, some he was standing some he was rolling around in the grass. There were a few other pictures of the other dragon riders and their dragons as well. This made Freya smile. The sound of a door opening made Freya break out of her thoughts. Loud thumps seemed to be getting closer to where she was.

"Whoa bud, slow down. You have to be quiet or you'll wake her up," The thumping continued, but they were softer making the young girl laugh. Silence sounded for a second before loud thumping came towards her quickly. The nightfurry ran into the room still jumping around, calling out for his rider to hurry up.

"You awake," he cheered "You gave us a fright your majesty,"

"Toothless you silly reptile!" the young Viking scowled as he ran up the stairs. "Let the poor girl sleep... oh your awake," Freya looked down unsure of what to say as the boy walked towards her. "How are you feeling?"

"Better," she spoke slowly. It sounded funny as she spoke this way. She had always spoke in dragonese only speaking human when she really needed to. She was surprised that she still remembered how to.

"My name is Hiccup, and this is toothless," he said gesturing to the nightfurry who still was jumping around the room making him sigh "strange dragon," he whispered to himself.

"My name is Freya, thank you for helping my back there, I guess I'm a little out of practice,"

"It's fine. It's always nice to meet a fellow dragon protector,"

"How long have the dragon attacks been happening? Surely I wasn't away that long,"

"Away?" Hiccup asked puzzled "These attacks have been going on for hundreds of years. Vikings have always hunted and fought with dragons,"

"You don't know?" Toothless spoke coming to, sadness in his eyes.

"Know what?" she asked the dragon.

"You have been away for over 500 years. The dragons started to believe that you were dead," Freya froze, the colour leaving her face. 500 years. She had been trapped in ice for 500 years! Tears welled in her eyes as she covered her face.

"How did you do that?" the Viking boy asked her amazed at what he had just witnessed "It was almost like he spoke directly to you,"

"Dragonese,"

"You speak dragon!"

"Perhaps I should have introduced myself with my full name. I am Freya, daughter of Ake and Queen of dragons," She waited for Hiccups reaction.

"The stories were real then," he whispered "and it was you as a dragon," he paused "Oh my Thor,"

"Is he ok?" she asked the dragon "I mean, he's not going to faint is he?" the dragon laughed quietly next to her and put his head on her lap.

"He will be fine in a minute,"

"The Queen of dragons, oh wow, wait till the others find out," he stood up and paused again. "Oh ah, sorry your majesty," he said bowing and blushing bright red.

"It is perfectly fine," she replied smiling "I would like to thank your friends for helping me,"

"Follow me," Hiccup smiled, holding out his hand. Making our way outside Freya was blinded with light and then amazed with what was around her. There were huts everywhere all connected with bridges, walkways and zip lines. A pack of night terrors flew overhead screeching and playing together. Hiccup showed her around pointing out the stables, the defence system and the training dome. After walking around for a bit they made it to the hall where the other Vikings were all talking and laughing amongst themselves.

"Freya, this is Astrid, Fishlegs, Heather, Snotlout, and the twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut," he said proudly pointing each Viking out as he spoke "Dragon riders, this is Freya Queen of dragons,"
