The college life was dull. It was the same everyday. Never changing. Well...that's actually basically what my whole life has been; stagnant. Nothing fulfilling or exciting ever happened. I was always just walking through each day with nothing to look forward to. But then again who would look forward to living on forever and watching others die? At this point I have absolutley no sympathy or emotion towards people who lose their loved ones. I see people cry and cry yet I feel nothing. As insane as this sounds, I wish I were the one who would die. I wish I could leave this earth because I am sick of living on it. I've become nothing but a bitter and resentful woman who kills to keep herself nourished.
I sigh, slouching deeper into the wooden chair I sat in. These depressing thoughts were really making me tired for some reason.
"Excuse me, are you done yet?"
I did not react to the sudden voice, seeing as I had heard the young female coming towards me seconds beforehand.
My eyes slowly shifted upwards till they stopped on the delicate features of a red headed girl.
I bit my tongue, ignoring the overwhelming scent of her perfume. To other humans it was a subtle scent, but to me it was very powerful.
"What was that?" I asked casually even though I knew exactly what she had said.
Her simple white dress and light blue converse gave me the impression that she was not like all the girls on this campus. She seemed to give off a sweet and innocent aura, something that I found myself relieved with.
I couldn't stand all the 'Marci's' out there.
She tugged her bag's strap up while placing some hair behind her.
Damn, she had beautiful hair. It was auburn, the perfect shade of red. She obviously took good care of it, seeing as it was silky and shiny as hell.
"The computer?" her soft voice came out quiet.
I could sense her sudden anxiety, which confused me. I wasn't trying to come off intimidating but I guess she thought so.
I huffed out a breath, realizing I had been in the school library for about an hour now doing absolutley nothing on this computer I had logged on to.
I think I was supposed to write an essay or something...
"Oh yeah. Hold on," I spoke swiftly, clicking the log off button and rising from my seat.
"Thanks."
I didn't bother responding, and began to walk away.
"Hey wait!" she called out.
I rolled my eyes before slowly turning around.
I raised my eyebrows at her, waiting for what she had to say.
"You're Alicia right?" she asked cautiously.
I nodded, mentally cringing at my name. God I hated it.
"I've seen you in class before. We have British Literature together..." she explained, my patience slowly slimming.
I clicked my tongue behind my teeth, simply nodding and throwing out a mumbled 'Cool'.
"My dorm room is also right across from yours," she added quietly.
My eyebrows rose, "Oh really?"
I had no idea. I didn't really know anybody in my dorm hall except for Marci.
"Yeah. My name's Jane." she took a few steps forward and held out her hand.
