25- waking up

Shaynes POV

I was in school and everyone was laughing at me. I went over to see Damien but I was caught by the bullies. They kicked me and as I looked to the right Damien was standing there whispering
"You couldn't save me"
He was being pulled away on the ground with blood coming out of his ass and Axel pulling him. After the bullies were done almost killing me the stranger came back and pulled out his knife. I was screaming and he stabbed me. That's when I woke up in the hospital bed screaming my lungs out.

I was being held by the whole squad and my parents were there too. Of course not my biological parents but Damien's, they were like family now. I was being held down with tears coming out of eyes and once I realized I was in a hospital and everything was fine. I hugged everyone and said
"I thought I'd never might see any of you again."
Everyone was crying at this point too. We were all like one giant family. We couldn't afford to lose anyone of us or our friendships. I kissed Damien and I was so happy he saved me. I tried to get up but something was caught, it was my leg. I looked up and it was hanging by cast. Probably for the best since it was STABBED!! Damien said
"Do you want to know who it was"
"Who?" I asked dying to know who would hate me so much.
"The leader of the bullies got out of prison. He came back to finish the job"
"Oh...well how did he get out?" I asked still questioning.
"Here's where it gets sad. Your parents bailed him out and kind of hired him as a hit man..."
I started to cry again. But I wasn't surprised, they would always threaten something like this. I just didn't imagine go through with it. I was so happy to be alive though.

Skip to the trial

We all had to go to the trial of Reginald, and Linda Topp, and also Michael Smith. Michael was his name. I never thought a bully/ murderer was named Michael. The whole squad sat in the seats. I sat next to Damien leaning on him just to annoy my parents and because he was warm. He felt so nice and strong at this point. I just wanted to fall into him. I also leaned on him because I didn't want to put weight on my leg. They said I would be out in a month. I heard the judge call
"Reginal Topp. Linda Topp. You are being charged for hiring a man to murder Shayne Topp. Michael Smith. You are being charged for the attempted murder Shayne Topp"
I was getting teary eyed and I just held onto Damien more. Courtney leaned over and hugged me. I was starting to silently cry. The trial went on for a while and sometimes my parents would look back at me. I just looked away and dug my head into Damien's shoulder. I wouldn't allow myself to look at them. They didn't deserve to see me since they didn't want to see me. Every time I looked away I could see them start to cry a bit. I didn't care, they didn't care about me. The trial was coming to an end and I was just waiting for it to be over. Once it was over the judge said
"Reginal Topp. Linda Topp. You're being charged for hiring a man to murder Shayne Topp. You are being found guilty and will be serving a life sentence." I could hear them crying, I didn't even flinch. They didn't deserve to love me. They wanted me gone so I'm not ever seeing them again.
"Michael Smith. You are being charged for the attempted murder of Shayne Topp and will be serving a life sentence"
Michael never looked at me back feeling sorry. I knew he hated me. The whole time everyone had the same stoic face. We didn't show any emotion throughout the whole trial. None of the squad. My parents and Michael were cuffed and taken out. After I got up and Damien carried me. I was getting my crutches but Damien picked me up bridal style and carried me out. The whole group was laughing and we walked to our cars. I was in a car with Damien and our parents. We decided to all go out to lunch and to go to chick-fil-A. I liked that place so much and we were all really excited. The whole squad too so there were going to be a party of 13 people.
