Edward had explained to Violet and King Hatchett that he had saved Thomas, and that all his evil magic was gone. After both believed him, Edward studied in healing magic, later becoming the palace's doctor.
Thomas had recovered from his bullet wound injury, and he and Violet had a bouncing baby girl with blond hair and blue eyes, named Scarlett.

Thomas and Violet stood over their baby girl's bassinet. "Look at her," Thomas said. "Her hair looks just like yours."
"She has your eyes," Violet replied, and grabbed Thomas' hand. Now, Thomas walked with a cane, not being able to put too much pressure on the right side of his body, where he had been shot.
Violet noticed a strain in Thomas' smile. He was
worried about Scarlett being taken by an evil king, surely.
"Provost is gone," Violet said, putting her head on his shoulder. "Edward's changed. There will be no problem, Thomas. We'll keep her safe, don't you worry."
"But, what if someone else pops up-" Thomas began.
"If they do, we both have magic, and Harvey, Everett,
Simon, and Edward's magic to help us. We can protect her, because we're a team, and team's stick together."
"But-" Thomas started, but was interrupted by Scarlett crying.
Violet picked her up. "Shh.." she whispered to Scarlett. "Would you like us to sing you a lullaby?" Violet looked up at Thomas, and they both began singing;
"Just close your eyes!
You're going to be alright.
I love you, dear, and you and I'll be safe and sound... if only in our dreams. "
