{Chapter 5: "you did WHAT?"}

Kaitlyn's P.O.V.

"Kait? Kaitlyn are you okay?" Asked Skylor, "earth to Kaitlyn, hello?"

"Hm?" I suddenly say and turn to look at Sky again, "oh yeah, I'm fine."

"What's up? you suddenly seem really distracted..."

I, uh..." pause. "6th of May is my birthday."

"Y-you what...? Is it really?"

"yeah-"

"Hey, you guys okay?" asked Kai as he came in.

"If you want to come in, you knock," I say and roll my eyes.

"Whoa, what's with the attitude? I only wanted to come in to check up on my Skylor," he turned to look at her, "everything okay? Thrown up at all?"

Sky smiled warmly, "luckily no, thanks for asking."

"It's okay princess, looks like I've got to look after you more than ever now," said Kai walking up to her and giving her a kiss on the forehead.

"Hey, you prefectly know I can look after myself, even in circumstances like these," replied Sky.

"Ew, will you both stop being so sappy," I interrupted.

"If you have a problem, leave," said Kai, getting annoyed.

"I will," I said, stood up and walked out. Not gonna watch these two make out, thanks very much.
As I walked around the bounty, excitement started to build up in me. My mom and auntie could be alive! I just gotta find them... but where could they be hiding?
And if they are hiding then who or what from?

"Evening walk, huh?" said someone and I snapped back into reality. I didn't even realise
I've walked out onto the deck. I looked around and saw Lloyd. The sunset shining brightly onto his face and the wind blowing gently through his hair. He looked like a prince from  fairytail. I blushed.

"What are you doing out here? It's starting to get late..." I said rather quietly and stood next to him, looking over the barrier.

"I can ask you the same question," Lloyd smiled, "I haven't seen you all day, what's up? Getting to know the Caleb boy?"

"No actually," I hissed. "I found out something rather important about my past."

"What? Really?" asked Lloyd sounding surprised, "tell me more!"

So I did. I told him my thoughts and then the conversation I had with Skylor before Kai came in. It felt good to talk to Lloyd again. He was a great listener. And a great friend.

"That's amazing, do you know where to start looking for them though?" he said once I've finished talking.

"Not really, and I can't think about that now, I need to focus on Chen. We all do."

"Good point, but if you ever need to talk or want to come up with a plan then I'm here to listen and help," said Lloyd and grinned. I smiled back and suddenly the world stopped. It was just us. Standing on the deck with a sunset next to us. I so badly wanted to do something. But what? Give him a kiss like Kai gave one to Sky earlier? I suddenly remembered that time when Lloyd kissed me on the cheek and that gave me hope that maybe if I do the same to him he won't push me away... Or will he?
Anxiety started to build up inside me.
We're just friends.
Just do it already.
No.
Yes.
No.
Yes!

But I didn't have to because in that moment of time, Lloyd put his hand gently on my cheek and started leaning in. I froze. I didn't know what to do.
Just close your eyes, for god's sake Kaitlyn!
So I did.
And then I felt his soft lips on mine.
He is kissing me, OH MY GOD, HE IS KISSING ME.
I kissed him back and found it easier than I thought. And honestly, rather nice too.
My first kiss!
I wrapped my arms around his neck but when he tried to wrap his around my waist I panicked and pulled away.
I couldn't do this, I didn't know how!

"I-is everything alright? I'm sorry if I d-did something wrong..." stuttered Lloyd.

"N-no, it's my fault, I'm sorry, I can't do this," I said and quickly walked back to my room before shutting the door behind me and standing there in shock.
Skylor, who was laying down before, sat up and looked at me confused. Kai was gone and she didn't have a towel on her head anymore.

"Kaitlyn? are you feeling okay?" she asked and flicked the bedside lamp on.

"Lloyd kissed me. Or I kissed him, I don't know," I blurted out.

"You did WHAT?" asked Skylor, eyes wide.

"Yeah..."

"Girl, that's AMAZING!"

"It would've been if I didn't pull away and run off."

"You what!? Kaitlyn, why!?"

"I panicked when he wrapped his arms around my waist! I have no clue how you do this you know!"

Skylor laughed, "number 1, it's totally natural for a boy to try and pull you in close by wrapping his arms around your waist and number 2, you don't need to know how! You do realise it was Lloyd's first kiss too, right? You just gotta go with the flow and not really think."

"So I ruined not only my first kiss but his too. Great."

"Kaitlyn, you didn't ruin it. Not completely anyway."

"I guess so," I said and flopped down onto my bed, "turn the light off, I'm going sleep."

"You're not gonna have a shower or even change?"

"I'll shower in the morning and I can't be bothered to change, goodnight."

"Alright then, night," said Sky and the lamp was out like a light. Quite litteraly.
