In My Dreams [Infinite Fanfic]

Part 12

Sungjong_POV

I instantly sprung awake and quickly sat up in bed. My heart was racing after what had just happened in my dream. I tried to steady my breathing, but I couldn't stop thinking about what I had just done.

"I'm coming for you Melody. I'll see you soon" I said as I collapsed back onto my bed.

After I had finally calmed down, I got up and put on my disguise so that I could go over to the convention to try and find Melody. I really hope she comes.

I arrived at the convention center and saw that there were already a few people waiting in line. Thankfully I knew where the vendor and special guest entrance was, so I could enter without anyone recognizing me.

As I was walking down the hall I heard a woman gasp "Oh my!" I turned and saw a staff member approaching me. "I'm so sorry" she quickly apologized. "We didn't realize you were going to be coming today" she looked worried. "I'll find an attendant for you." She looked over her list and then asked "How many group members are going to be here today?"

I rubbed the back of my head and smiled "Just me. I wanted to see what the layout was like and check a few things out."

She smiled with relief. "Our staff members are currently busy setting up the venue, but we should have an attendant available later."

"That's okay" I smiled back at her. "I'm just going to look around for now and then go up to the VIP lounge before the doors open."

"Okay" she smiled. "I'll send an attendant up once one is free."

"Thank you" I replied as I walked away.

Melody_POV

"They are going to be opening the doors soon" Charles said. "Why don't we go up to the VIP lounge and look over the list of events first so we can plan your schedule for the convention."

"Okay" I smiled back at him.

As we were walking towards the escalator, Charles asked me "How did you get a VIP pass?"

"I honestly don't know. It just came in the mail."

We arrived at a room and Charles led me inside. "Why don't you take a seat over there and I'll get us something to drink. What would you like?"

"Just a bottle of water would be fine" I smiled. Then I walked over to the seating area and waited for Charles.

"Here you go" Charles said as he handed me the bottle. Then he took a seat next to me and pulled out the IPad they had given him. "It looks like they only have you scheduled for a couple of things on the last day, so what would you like to do?"

"Not sure" I replied honestly. "What is there to do at KCON?"

"Well...." he thought for a moment. "There are a number of fan engagement activities. What Kpop groups do you like? Maybe I can even arrange for you to meet a group" he smiled.

I chuckled nervously "Honestly..... I've never even listened to Kpop before."

"You haven't?" he was shocked. He regained his composure and then asked "Then how did you get a VIP pass?"

"Not sure" I shrugged my shoulders.

Sungjong_POV

When I saw Melody walk into the VIP lounge, all I wanted to do was run over to her and kiss her, but then I saw that her attendant was with her and thought it best not to cause a scene.

As I listened to their conversation, I couldn't help but silently chuckle at her attendant's reaction.

"Are there any groups you want to see, Charles?" she asked and I stiffened.

I stealthily turned around so I could get a better look at the guy and instantly felt defeated when I saw how happy she looked sitting next to him. I know she had said that she only considered him a friend, but it looked as though they were much more than that.

"I like Infinite" he smiled. "You were already scheduled for their events though."

"I was?" she was surprised, which I found cute. "Why?"

"I don't know" Charles replied.

I do; it's because I was the one who arranged for you to be here. Though now I regret it after seeing how happy you are with him.

"I have an idea" she perked up a little. "Why don't you show me all the things you like at KCON? Maybe I'll find something interesting that way" she smiled brightly.

Suddenly he grabbed her, pulled her into his arms and said "I love you, Melody."

At that moment my heart sank. I couldn't stand to watch any more, so I quickly got up and sneaked out the other door before they saw me.

Melody_POV

I couldn't believe what Charles was saying because I was too shocked. When I came to my senses, I quickly pushed him away. "What are you doing?" I screamed at him. "How can you suddenly do this?"

"It's not sudden" he quickly cut in. "I've been in love with you for a long time! I just didn't know how to tell you."

"Charles...." I didn't know how to respond to what he was saying. It felt as though someone had put my mind in a blender.

"When I left for college, I figured I had lost my chance so I tried to forget about you" he confessed. "I thought I was finally over you, but then I saw you again and I realized that I could never stop loving you."

"Charles stop" I spoke authoritatively as I stood up and backed away.

"Melody...." he was surprised by my sudden actions and reached for my hand.

"No" I quickly interrupted him and pulled my hand out of his reach. Although my heart was racing a little, I knew that I couldn't let this continue. "Charles" I spoke rationally and he looked up at me. "I'm sorry, but I can not accept your feelings." As difficult as it was, I knew that I had to tell him how I felt. "I've only ever seen you as a friend, nothing more."

"I know that you're not seeing anyone right now, so couldn't you just give me a chance? Just one date?" he was almost begging.

"I'm sorry Charles" I replied as I shook my head. "I may not be seeing anyone, but there is already someone else in my heart." He looked as though my words had socked him in the gut. "I can ask them to change my attendant to someone else if you want. I know that it will probably be difficult to work with me after all this."

He shook his head to regain his composure and said "No, I'll be alright." He coughed to clear his throat. "I think I always knew that you would never like me back" he chuckled self-mockingly. "He's one lucky guy, whoever he is" he smiled.
