Author's note

I am currently at school while writing this. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE READS!!

In this you sit awake after a long night, and decide to get up and visit the beach. It's dawn, three hours before you usually get up, and two days before your 20th birthday.

You look around as you exit the hotel room. No one's around anyway. You rush out, fluffy ugg boots on feet, and sandals in hand. (Can't be too suspicious, eh?) The beach is right in front of the hotel, as it should be to almost everyone's rooms now.

You think of the gem on your hand at that moment and instantly look down onto it. It isn't glowing, which is also a good sign as it is a bad sign. You take off your boots, which Lion gave you, that magically disappear in the air. The sandals feel warm as the sun creeps up onto the horizon, and you smile to yourself.

You sigh. This is freedom. This is wanderlust. Your phone begins to ring. The bus passes, and you rush into it, disappearing into the nightly air, no sign of leaving or where to go. You have money, and your phone. Garnet's idling number appears, and you smile.

"Hello?"

"Hello, y/n."

"What's wrong?"

"Oh, nothing."

"Where are you? It seems... even windier than Beach City for sure."

"Yeah, I'm heading to Empire City for a bit. Why?"

"Oh? Any chance you're there to see anyone?"

You chuckle to yourself, internally. "Nope. Unless it's a friend, I wouldn't bother to do that. Although there is a girl..."

You hear Garnet huff, and you laugh. "I hope you're kidding."

You nod to yourself, as if she was there. "I most certainly am."

"Well, enjoy. Love you." She hangs up, no time for you to say anything.

You glance back to the girl staring out the window, next to an open seat. "Hi." You sit next to her, and she looks at you. "Oh, hi. I'm Ren." You smile at her politeness, but also wonder of the forward subjective. "Y/n." She's a pretty dark haired American girl, the kind Garnet would not like seeing around you. The bus ends and she hops out at Ocean City. "See you." And on her seat lies a piece of paper. Her number.

"Oh." You say into the empty void, as the bus drives on.
