Chapter 21 "She's Breaking."

You wake the one morning, Garnet by your side, and almost forget you can't speak to her. But then you look to your side: your girlfriend isn't actually there. You get up, rushing frantically to the only place you know she likes: the hill.
When you arrive there, you see her, but not Garnet. Ruby and Sapphire.
You can't speak, so you stamp your foot, the EYE following you. They turn around, and you can see deep hot cheeks and teary eyes, as well as the comfort Ruby tried to give her girlfriend. Jade turns up behid you, as well as the other Gems. And you start to cry, wanting to turn away and run, but Bismuth stops you. You look up, and she nods. The EYE suddenly bugs deeply, and you feel it turn off, then back on. "Garnet?" You hear a voice, almost thinking you mistakenly spoke, and brace yourself for the beam. But nothing happens.
Then the two Gems run and hug you. You try to keep it all together, but hug them tightly, bending down to their height. You were accustomed to the two Gems, but never as soon in periods of time.
This begged the question if they were staying like this. Would it be a few days? Weeks? Months? Years? You knew that waiting for it all, you, as an Amber, would surely be sent back for the pleasure of your pain, to Homeworld, seperated from what you called home for many years now.
You were half human, but that was unknown to the Diamonds. Especially your Diamond. You had turned 26 a few days ago.
You now look up at the source of the voice: Kyanite. Her eyes look into yours, and it floods with memories as one would see with a Lapis Lazuli's eyes. Ruby and Sapphire look up, and Jade rounds them up for a conversation, and, in between deep sobs, you see Sapphire whisper into her ear. You can just barely make out the words along the line of: "Strong. For her." Then you turn away, blinded by the light, and in front of you stands Garnet, but not in her rather usually boring and basic Battle attire, instead has a deeply beautiful red dress on.
The same one she had on the day you left. You begin to cry into Bismuth's shoulder, and want to die on the spot. "I want it to be over." You punch her softly. Bismuth takes her hand in yours, and suddenly you turn to the EYE, which surveys you still. You look at it, and it appears as Yellow Diamond. You speak, no hesistance, and don't bother doing the Diamond sign. "Why?" She finally turns to you, eyes wide. She blushes, something you don't expect, but continue: "I can't anymore, not like this." You pause, motioning for your lover to get closer to you, and you pull her closer with a hand. She looks surprised, but goes on. "What? You dare oppose this?" She motions against herself. "Yes. I do. Extremely. " Garnet looks at you, eyes wider than your Diamond. "I wish this was over. You shouldn't be my Diamond. You aren't my Diamond. She is." You point to Garnet, and the revealing takes off. Your outfit of a true Amber appears. Your hair is tied up, gloves attached. Your visors are removed. "This is not me, Yellow." You see your Diamond's eyes widen with frustration, but then collapse with fear. She knows exactly what you're planning. She always has.
"No!" She yells. Garnet turns to you, unaware of what will happen. All the Gems turn to you, fearful. "5! Don't you dare!" Bismuth cuts through Yellow's voice. You pick up your spear, and run. The speed has changed since you last ran, but it's enough to outrun them. Garnet's speed encreases, but it's not enough. She still doesn't understand.
But one thing's for sure.
She's Breaking.
