chapter 9

I wake up in my parent's room, it's 5 AM.
Where are they? Are they not letting me out for real?
I walk to the door to look if it's open, it is.
It's quiet in the hall, no wonder it's only 5 AM, I go back inside and wash my face.
My phone rings, I see it is Jackson.

'hey' I say
'hey, I'm with mom and dad and they don't know I'm calling you so'
'okay, where are you?'
'look, in the drawer under the tv is your room pass, I left it so you can change or whatever, don't tell mom and dad, they still think you are in there room' Jackson said and hang up

I walk to the drawer and grab the pass.
Back in my room I first go for a shower and change my clothes.
Where would they be, making sure I'll never see Joel again?
I grab my phone and the pass and go outside, maybe Jackson is outside of the hotel.

*outside*

i've got a text from Jackson saying he's outside

I see Jackson talking to someone, I walk toward him.

'hey' I say
'hey Alicia, did you sleep good?' He says it like nothing happened
'sure' I say
'hi I'm Alicia' I say to the boy in front of me
'hi I'm Erick, nice to meet you'
'nice to meet you too' i say
'you said you where with mom and dad?' i say to Jackson
'yes but the send me back to check on you' he said

My phone rings
It is an unknown number, again.
Would it be the same man?
I pick up

'hello?' I say
'Alicia?!'
'Alison!! Where are you? Are you okay?'
'I'm fine, I don't know, they keep me locked up in a room, they're gone now and I saw that one man left his phone so I called you' Alison says
'why didn't you call the cops? We will do it'
'no don't! They don't want me but you, they are talking about you all the time since that man talked to you' she says
'you need to-' it got cut of

I look at the boys, what am I supposed to do?
Why do they even want me? I don't know who they are.

'who was that?' Jackson asks
'Alison, she doesn't know where she is, only in a room'
'what is happening?' Erick asks
'uhm.. Nothing, just.. The vacation is not going as planned' Jackson says

Erick's phone's go off.

'I need to go, gonna meet up with a friend' he says
'see you later, and it was nice to meet you Alicia'
'it was nice to meet you too Erick, bye'

Jackson and I are going back inside to eat while Erick walks to the louvre.
It's 7AM now, still early, I wonder where mom and dad are, and the parents of Alison.
At least it is light outside.

'where are mom and dad actually?' I ask
'they are with Alison's parents, they went to look for her. I think that they go to the police if they don't find her, which is a big chance. Can't you find her phone? With that app?'
'no it's not on, and I can't call back either' I say

We walk back to our room and wait for our parents to return.
